My favorite Duo touch: Delta shows a lid on outer display when closed :)

Annoyingly, the only reason we added this screen in the first place is because Apple is forcing us to add In-App Purchase worldwide in order to keep our Patreon external purchase link in the US 🙄 Rather than fight it however, we decided to just accept it and […] [Original post on mastodon.social]

We managed to squeeze in one last feature for Delta 2.0: DLC for Pokémon games! You can now download custom DLC for games like Pokemon Emerald to interact with @shanegill.io and I as NPCs, and even receive rare event items or Pokemon in return (and all made without AI 🙂)

RE: fosstodon.org/@altstore/11735044868… Thanks to our intern Zoe, I changed my iPhone’s lock sound to be Mario saying “BYE BYE!” and it’s music to my ears every time I lock my device 😌

As for actually playing games, yeaaahhh gonna need to update basically _all_ the skins to not be over the crease 😅 Which also means I need to figure out how to update Delta’s skin format to support that, since it currently assumes a constant 19.5:9 aspect ratio for all iPhones without Home buttons…

Finally have a chance to play with Duo simulator — pretty happy with how Delta’s game library adapts to different poses! Wondering if the custom page control would make more sense as a vertical bar though 🤔

To celebrate our 30th birthday, @shanegill.io and I invited 14 of our closest friends to compete in a game of Survivor all weekend The challenges were intense, the backstabbing was real, but in the end there could only be one Sole Survivor™ — congrats Shane 🏆

@jmovs does manually reinstalling apps from Settings work? Internally that’s a different process than installing, so it might work around whatever the issue is

IMO if Apple’s worst, most egregious example of a harmful and dangerous app that’s now available through sideloading is *checks notes* porn…I think we’re doing OK www.apple.com/newsroom/2025/09/the-…

Excerpt from Apple newsroom post about DMA:

• New exposure to harmful apps: For the
first time, pornography apps are available
on iPhone from other marketplaces —
apps we've never allowed on the App
Store because of the risks they create,
especially for children. That includes Hot
Tub, a pornography app that was
announced by AltStore earlier this year.
The DMA has also brought gambling apps
to iPhone in regions where they are
prohibited by law.

Update: it was rejected because the keyboard extension doesn’t do anything if Full Access isn’t enabled 🙄 Even though the previous submissions also didn’t do anything without Full Access enabled…

Clip Notarization Rejection:

Guideline 4.4.1 - Design - Extensions

The keyboard extension does not provide any functionality when the "Full Access" setting is toggled off.

Next Steps

To resolve this issue, revise the app to ensure the keyboard extension provides some functionality with and without full network access.

Adding a new screen to Delta to inform users about the differences when using In-App Purchase instead of donating directly to our Patreon — what do y’all think?

Delta’s new full-screen warning sheet about In-App Purchase:

“You’re about to use Apple‘s In-App Purchase system. Patreon is not responsible for the privacy or security of purchases made with In-App Purchase.

Any accounts or purchases made outside of Patreon will be managed by the company “Apple, Inc.”. Your Patreon account, stored payment method, and related features, such as subscription management and refund requests, will not be available. Patreon can't verify any pricing or promotions offered by the company.”
