Welp guess I won't be able to actually test Delta on the Duo before it launches 😪

Thanks to our intern Zoe, I changed my iPhone’s lock sound to be Mario saying “BYE BYE!” and it’s music to my ears every time I lock my device 😌

As for actually playing games, yeaaahhh gonna need to update basically _all_ the skins to not be over the crease 😅 Which also means I need to figure out how to update Delta’s skin format to support that, since it currently assumes a constant 19.5:9 aspect ratio for all iPhones without Home buttons…

Finally have a chance to play with Duo simulator — pretty happy with how Delta’s game library adapts to different poses! Wondering if the custom page control would make more sense as a vertical bar though 🤔

With iOS 27, users in the EU, Japan, and Brazil can now sideload apps (.ipa files) entirely on-device without ever using a computer!! Just install AltStore Classic with AltStore PAL, then follow our onboarding guide to easily get set up with Remote AltServers 👌

Fun fact, Apple tracks all downloads of apps in AltStore PAL (ostensibly to charge CTF) Would be pretty funny if Apple watched this become one of our top apps…

Apple Newsroom (September 2025)

Passage from Apple newsroom post from September 2025:

“New exposure to harmful apps: For the first time, pornography apps are available on iPhone from other marketplaces — apps we’ve never allowed on the App Store because of the risks they create, especially for children. That includes Hot Tub, a pornography app that was announced by AltStore earlier this year. The DMA has also brought gambling apps to iPhone in regions where they are prohibited by law.”

To celebrate our 30th birthday, @shanegillio.bsky.social and I invited 14 of our closest friends to compete in a game of Survivor all weekend The challenges were intense, the backstabbing was real, but in the end there could only be one Sole Survivor™ — congrats Shane 🏆

IMO if Apple’s worst, most egregious example of a harmful and dangerous app that’s now available through sideloading is *checks notes* porn…I think we’re doing OK www.apple.com/newsroom/202...

Adding a new screen to Delta to inform users about the differences when using In-App Purchase instead of donating directly to our Patreon — what do y’all think?

Delta’s new full-screen warning sheet about In-App Purchase:

“You’re about to use Apple‘s In-App Purchase system. Patreon is not responsible for the privacy or security of purchases made with In-App Purchase.

Any accounts or purchases made outside of Patreon will be managed by the company “Apple, Inc.”. Your Patreon account, stored payment method, and related features, such as subscription management and refund requests, will not be available. Patreon can't verify any pricing or promotions offered by the company.”

3423

Riley Testut @riley.social · 07/05/2025

Of course Apple still requires we offer in-app purchases…so we shoved them away at the bottom of Delta’s settings under “Alternate Payment Methods” ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Apple’s shakedown of Patreon creators begins 🙄

Email from Patreon with subject “Your account now uses Apple’s in-app purchase system”

Hi,

We’re writing to let you know that your Patreon has been updated to use Apple’s in-app purchase system. This means that all purchases of memberships and shop items through the Patreon iOS app will now include Apple’s 30% App Store fee. As a reminder, Apple’s fees do not affect your existing members. You also have the ability to choose how Apple’s fees impact your prices and earnings through the iOS app. You may adjust your selection any time in your settings.
