Kinda seems like right wing pundits were alerted to the gotcha ahead of time, then didn't watch the actual hearing and so missed it being proven completely wrong, so they're sticking to an old script and Schmitt just has to sit there with a blank stare and hope they move on to something else quickly

I think I know what you mean, but it was a huge, beloved (by some) Blockbuster With a Heart. That said, the Odyssey (and maybe Dune) might satisfy the tentpole itch. It’s hard to say if Gosling has a better chance than the movie itself, or if it’s the other way around.

Feel kind of dumb for excitedly saying “ooh, it’s one of the new Acela trains!” at Penn Station a couple hours ago as we currently sit in New Haven and wait for the train to “reset.” Yes, like a broken router, they are turning it off and on again to see if that might fix things.

Also Hüller in the Berlin film Rose, an excellent performance for which she won the Silver Bear. That movie has real topicality, though it’s weird and in black and white, so who knows. Cruz would go supporting for Invite. Blunt is great in Disclosure, but that movie is too polarizing, I think.

The Academy seems to have a lingering, Weinstein-influenced, wildly unfair bias against James Gray, and Johansson would be supporting. Madison would likely be supporting too(?), and those reshoots give me pause. Austen skipping all festivals and releasing in mid-Oct does not bode well, but maybe!
