Vibes of the Phalanx Dragon concept aircraft from the 1980s
Drawing of the Phalanx Dragon concept aircraft. A blended fuselage with twin-tails, cranked delta wings, canard fore planes, a blunt nose, and a tandem cockpit in front of a large dorsal jet intake. The aircraft is camouflaged

I always thought something like this with a couple of helmet slaved guns, a bunch of those new small guided AAMs and a datalink would be ideal

Meme of Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala from the Star Wars first films. Anakin is saying “Millions of us never voted for this lunatic.”
Padme replies “you voted against him. You voted against him right?”

Text from an article by German historian Kayla Hoyer about the rise of Aktion für Deutschland’s policies should they gain power in Saxony Anholt
“The AfD further argues that disabled children and children who came to Germany as asylum seekers should be taught in separate classes or schools, away from German children with no disabilities.”

@waitmanwbeorn.com, is there any historical precedent for organisations with names like the Institute for Intelligence Research?

Clearly, they are not.
A hypocritical, weaselly expression of sympathy for the family and friends of a man hounded to death, attached to an article thanking a clearly racist, pseudoscience using bad actor for “courageously “ attacking the dead man.

'An Irish Airman foresees his Death'
By William Butler Yeats.

"I know that I shall meet my fate
Somewhere among the clouds above;
Those that I fight I do not hate,
Those that I guard I do not love;

My country is Kiltartan Cross,
My countrymen Kiltartan’s poor,
No likely end could bring them loss
Or leave them happier than before.

Nor law, nor duty bade me fight,
Nor public men, nor cheering crowds,
A lonely impulse of delight
Drove to this tumult in the clouds;

I balanced all, brought all to mind,
The years to come seemed waste of breath,
A waste of breath the years behind
In balance with this life, this death."

@yougov.co.uk need to start showing the correct answers after running polls like this when the poll has closed. #Facts
A YouGov poll asking whether more or fewer migrants are crossing the English Channel compared to previous years.
Crossings are considerably lower this year, but the poll shows a majority of people think numbers have either stayed the same or increased.

Lindbergh. I suspect he wouldn’t be terribly keen on me as a neighbour either. In an alternate reality I might have had Winkle Brown as a neighbour, as he interviewed to be manager of Tees-side Airport, and I grew up next door to the actual manager, the great Sq. Lee Jack Onions DFM & bar

Of course, for when the Blackburn Blackburn wasn’t Blackburn enough, there’s the Cubaroo

How to deal with accusations of teenage fascism, by Clive Dunn. 1. Admit that you were attracted by fascism as a teenager and give a brief explanation. 2. Recognise fascism for what it is and leave. 3. (the key bit) Spend the rest of your life not being a fascist. N. Farage take note.
A section of The Times obituary of Clive Dunn describing his teenage involvement with the British Union of Fascists, and reason for leaving them, as he would not stand for antisemitism.
