Writing fiction. Is it hard? I don't know, I just make it up as I go along.

I haven't appeared in The Guardian's list of best books again this year. I don't understand why they keep missing me out.

I'm currently writing a pitch for a comedy stage play. Does anyone here have any advice? #theatre

I should be writing, but my word count is already 35 today so I'm here.

On the 1st of January, the #Curae prize for writer-carers opens for a second time. The demise of twitter is making it harder to get the word out, so do share! thecuraeprize.uk There are around 7 million unpaid carers in the UK alone & Curae shines a light on the role & much more. #carers #writing

I have to go to a meeting. But it's in the pub so that's okay.

My Novella 'Hotel' was published on 30th July. The same day we rushed our daughter to A&E with a burst appendix. She's still recovering and due to fly home on Thursday. It's been a bit full-on this last couple of weeks. #writing #writingcommunity

And this morning the Shed is a mossy path that leads to a green-throated gully, where kingfishers stitch the golden air, and butterflies dance in the tree canopy...

For Christmas this year why not give my book #WaterAndBlood about all the people who die horribly. The perfect antidote to the 'seasonal jumper'. Links in my Linktree.

Publication of my short story collection is tomorrow and I'm excited. I may be the only one who feels this, but that's okay, still a great feeling.

I decided to 'Nano' this year, after a five year break, and am currently at about 43k, but I've also scheduled publication of my collection of short stories 'Morsels of Life' for the 30th November. I'm now realising how fragmented my thoughts are. But it did seem like a good idea... at the time.

Here is the full paperback cover of my collection of short stories out on 30th November.

The book cover of a collection of short stories called 'Morsels of Life' A photograph of an anonymous building with tree branches in the foreground carries the title and author and a back blurb which reads: An antidote for the world's woes.
From childhood to old age, from birth to death. From first love to lifetimes together, from marriage to divorce. Joy for a newborn, sadness at a departure. Success in a challenge, failure at romance. Understanding across generations, misunderstanding between couples. These and many more can be found in this collection of entertaining miniatures.
Savour the flavour of
Morsels of Life

To Nano or not to Nano that is the question. I have a thriller that needs a comprehensive rewrite that I've been putting off for three years that would work for me. #Nano #Nanowrimo #writing

Okay, to help everyone make their BlueSky what they want it to be, here's a thread about feeds. What they are, how to find them, how to add them, how to pin them, what feeds to follow if you're a #writer, and how you can make your own 🥸 1/16

My buddy will be here shortly as we continue with version 7 of our collaboration, a full length play script no less. A new medium for me so lots of learning opportunities.
