Rikk Richardson @rikkjjr.bsky.social · 17/05/2026Long overdue 2026 reissue of @bobdylan MTV Unplugged from 1995. Bobby has a well storied, wildly patchy track history with live records but this is well worth your time. #bobdylan #mtvunplugged #LP #vinyl 030
Rikk Richardson @rikkjjr.bsky.social · 16/05/2026Ahhh but Special Beat Service might actually be my favourite of theirs. Mad to think this was only two years on from I Just Can't Stop It. Bands just evolved and pushed boundaries quicker back then? A pop fusion masterpiece. 100

Rikk Richardson @rikkjjr.bsky.social · 16/05/2026I love this record so much. I still don't even know if it's my favourite The Beat LP. I flip flop between Wha'ppen and Special Beat Service a lot. But finally tracked down the #RSD 2xLP reissue with some excellent dubs and bonuses from a few years ago at a sensible price. 110
Rikk Richardson @rikkjjr.bsky.social · 16/05/2026Another The Slackers from late last year. Some great lesser heard dubs and A/B sides. Few killer live renditions (Treat Me Good 😮💨) and a truly mad artwork design! 🔥 @piratespressrecs.bsky.social 021
Rikk Richardson @rikkjjr.bsky.social · 16/05/2026I've been hugely enjoying The Slackers releasing videos for each of the tunes on this stellar EP from late last year on @piratespressrecs.bsky.social Telling it like it is and they never miss! 011
Rikk Richardson @rikkjjr.bsky.social · 16/05/2026Sing The Ghost Away, the latest from Westbound Train is such a great LP, the production really leans into the soulfulness of their arrangements and Obi Fernandez’ vocals more than ever. Really glad they're active again and better than ever to boot. 000
Rikk Richardson @rikkjjr.bsky.social · 16/05/2026The ace Hollie Cook back on Mr Bongo with a killer LP Shy Girl. Hasn't been far from the turntable since last October. 020
Rikk Richardson @rikkjjr.bsky.social · 16/05/2026"Man, I love a heart with one foot out the door" LP 'Valentine' from @courtneymarieandrews is full of heartful, heartbreaking tunes and it's absolutely wonderful. 000
Rikk Richardson @rikkjjr.bsky.social · 16/05/2026I've nicked a few too many ideas from Westbound Train over the years in my own writing and they've pressed some long overdue LPs of their classics in the past couple of years, including Come and Get It most recently, with this ace new sleeve art. 000
Rikk Richardson @rikkjjr.bsky.social · 16/05/2026@bessatwell.bsky.social Light Sleeper - this passed me by until I think a recommendation on a podcast from @justplayed.bsky.social - so glad, what a beautiful, honest record. Love it. 110

Rikk Richardson @rikkjjr.bsky.social · 15/02/2026I miss CD compilations. I bought Short Music for Short People in about 2004 from Soundclash in Norwich when I was a teenager partly because 101 bands is a lot of music for your (little) money and the novelty totally appealed. @fatwreckchords.bsky.social 220

Rikk Richardson @rikkjjr.bsky.social · 31/07/2025This hasn’t left the turntable much since it came out in May. Saw @ilovelucius.bsky.social open for Jack White in Leeds in something like 2014 and never looked back. This new self titled record is just so so good. Rikk Richardson @rikkjjr.bsky.social · 23/05/2025This Bobby Charles LP was all I was interested in picking up in 2025's #RSD - this collection of session outtakes is so unbelievably laid back and comfortable in the best way, it's horizontal. Coffee drinking, slow Sunday morning listening. Love it. 010
Rikk Richardson @rikkjjr.bsky.social · 06/05/2025The Loving Paupers and Victor Rice been after this one for a while, on @jumpuprecords.bsky.social Vic Rice is killer on these dubs and it's an ace compliment to the original mix. 110
