It's Zineday! And have I got a packed issue for you this month! 24(!) pages of art and comics and doodles and behind the scenes stuff! Not gonna lie, this month has been rough and it'd mean a lot to me if you'd check it out! I put a lot into this one! You might like it! Patreon.com/RikDraws

The cover to Mackazine 98, featuring a rabbit and a dragon man, a lizard maybe? having a fight on a pirate ship, with a broken sword and hand grenade? That doesn't seem safe! Give it a look. That $3 would really help me out this month. I am drowning!

Feeling very much like Spidey under the wreckage today. Just gotta get up. Back to it. Any minute now.

A defeated looking Spidey under the steel in ASM #33, slowly getting covered in water as the room starts to flood.

An old Amiga 1500 my dad bought us from some guy he found in the Loot (classified ad paper) it came with a stack of floppy discs that were mostly unlabelled and contained games like Theme Hospital, Cannon Fodder, Sid Meier's Civilization and more. I wrote my first "horror" story on Wordworth.

An Amiga 1500, which even some UK computing nerds can't believe existed nor I owned.

Every arcade game needs to start with this from now on

The "Winners don't use drugs" screen from a bazillion arcade games, refit to say "Winners don't use AI" which is a fact.

I am so tempted to draw Archie Sonic stuff on this you have no idea.

A blank sketch variant of Archie #1, which I am totally not thinking about drawing a Sally/Sonic/Amy milkshake sharing homage to Archie at all. AT ALL I Tellsya.

Hey Canadians. Here's my plea for Canada to implement a UBI system to enrich the lives of everyone. If you agree, maybe go fill in this survey and add your thoughts too. Just imagine if they stop burning money on scammy AI rubbish and instead invest in people. What a world we could have.

my UBI plea to the Canadian government.

"Implement a Universal Basic Income system. UBI is proven to improve the economy and well-being every time it is implemented. It gives people security, allows them to do things like raise families and train for/move jobs, it allows them to take time off to take care of their health. It promotes a stronger, smarter more productive Canada. It reduces stress, helps bolster the economy, promotes buying within the country. It saves lives and improves the quality of life for everyone. And most importantly it IS achievable. Stop wasting money on AI and start investing in people. Please. It works. It's been tested hundreds of times. It works. It will work. It will improve the lives of everyone and improve the country. Look at the studies, look at the results. It's time. It is a big step but it will be into the future we need. We can be the shining example for the rest of the world and the envy of them all. We just need to take one small step. Implement UBI."

The first CD I ever bought with my own money was South Park: Chef Aid (Extreme version) which I was entirely too young to be listening to. However what a lineup of artists. From Elton John to System of a Down it was a wild collaboration. I don't know what my parents were thinking letting me get it.

South Park: Chef Aid the extreme version of the soundtrack most definitely not intended for kids. They even made like three versions of it just to make sure you weren't letting your kids listen to the real rude stuff. WHOOPS.

first image in your camera roll that makes you laugh out loud

A badly taken screenshot of a news story from Japan about Count Binface running in the Clacton by-election. Pictured; Count Binface playing the electic (bass) guitar, on his spaceship as a japanese man gestures to the screen and explains who he is. THIS IS A REAL NEWS STORY ABOUT REAL EVENTS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW. And polls show HE IS WINNING.

Looking at how bland those marvel costumes are time really IS a flat circle.

Xmen (2000) making fun of comic accurate costumes when now, 26 years later we're still getting stuck with bland boring 'tacticool' black outfits covered in greebles.

Don't stand for that Liam erasure, if they read the comic they'd know the truth.

Issue 8 of Liam The Comic. Shortly before he becomes the titular Sonic the Hedgehog. Real ones remember.

Doing my part to fund the new Tenchi Galaxy pilot. Here's hoping it leads to a series! (my poor wallet) Oh Kickstarter's live btw, GO!

Reminder that the Sonic the Hedgehog 35th Anniversary Special drops TOMORROW! And it is AMAZING. I'm not biased, (I didn't work on it!) it is SO GOOD. The art, the story, the gags, the action. It's one of my favourite pieces of IDW Sonic to date! Trust me, you need this one!

More I think about this comparison the more it rings true. I love yelling, I have overqualified better half who is the real brains of the pair of us and I do get over embroiled in petty squabbles when I should be focusing on taking over the world. Which I could totally really do if I REALLY wanted.

🍁Happy Canada Day Eh🍁

A sketchy Canada Day doodle I did in 2021 featuring my sonic OC 'Ring the Raccoon' holding a canada flag, wearing a canada shirt and standing in front of a canada flag background. It's pretty canadian. Eh.

It's Zineday once again and I'm peddling me wares over at www.patreon.com/RikDraws, this time celebrating the EIGHTH YEAR of doin this nutty little mag of mine. You think I'd learn by now but apparently not! It's got comics, sketches, fanart and commissions and all sorts for your perusin' pleasure!

The cover to Mackazine #95, the 8th anniversary special featuring Sonic the Hedgehog with a cake that has candles numbering 35 because it's his 35th anniversary this year, but more importantly they equal 8 which is how many years I've been doing this daft zine! Check it out why don't ya, my wallet will thank you when I can keep my lights on!

Very quick doodle to say Happy 35th to the most famous hedgehog in the world.

Sonic the hedgehog running while holding a slice of birthday cake labelled '35' on a lazy background of dots and lines. Appropriately a very quick sketch or doodle or whatever you call it when you don't actually use any lines. Also forgive the awful leg placement I'm tired and old.

As a huge Castlevania fan and a huge Katsuya Terada fan I am so hype for this you have no idea. This is second only to getting a Terada Zelda game (Zelda II remake in Terada style would probably actually cause me to ascend)

An assortment of Katsuya Terada artbooks quickly thrown onto a table in my excitement to take a photo because we're getting more KT art for Castlevaniaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa YES
