Everyone was questioning why they changed the gender of the role for someone else but not for me, I could only respond with a shrug. The teacher in charge of the theater program has a trans son so she was always really supportive

In highschool I was apart of the theater club and dabbled in a bit of every section. (backstage crew, acting, and tech) A person that was playing a part was no longer to do it so they were down a person, so naturally I stepped in. So for the play I was a teenage boy.

Maine now celebrates indigenous peoples' day. My brother in school learn about local history. See the art made by our people. Have local people talk about our history.

I grew up with teachers telling me how lucky I was for my birthday to (sometimes) fall on Columbus day. Whenever I told my teachers that I was native it was always followed up with "what percent?" As a kid I trusted them and thought of that as normal. Things in my area are luckily changing.
