Cyborg66 on Tumblr posted a document on how they plan on using SF2E and Lancer in the same game. It'll be SF2E for much of the exploration area, and then Lancer for mech combat. Can't wait to play around with this. www.tumblr.com/cyborg66/822...

. We sur 68 ChApter two vived the era of Bush Senior only to be hit by the era of Bush Junior; we lived through the Gulf War only to witness its deadly replay in Iraq. The amnesiac cycle that solidifies U.S. hegemony, spreads the era of empire, and authorizes the return of the stupid white male is written in Dude as the triumph of the few, the brave, the “relentlessly moronic.”

Because it's focused on just writing, I'm using it as one part journal, one part noting due dates. No due dates this week, so mostly reflections on the work that I've been doing. Part of this is to help me visual progress, while another part is to stay on track.
An open hobonichi weeks. The left has notes about each day's work, while the right includes two progress bar (start and end).

Thinking about the Third Terror in the Spear Cuts Through Water again.
One of the things I realized at 90% in is that I strongly relate to #minotaurs, in part because they are so strongly about the assumption that binds us with family ties. When I think about how I genuinely want to write about family, trauma and represent my own experiences, the maze seems like ample ground for that. It also allows for space to function in ways that work for my flavor of cycles of family trauma - for fleeing and fear and danger to be interconnected.

I'm Rigby, an author/ttrpg designer interested in the strange, fantastic and embodied. My work is mostly with Pathfinder and Starfinder, where I've specialized in adventures. The third volume of Mechageddon is my baby, but I've worked on everything from ancestries to subsystems!

I love these index highlighter tabs for prepping ttrpg adventures. I feel a little worried about highlighting in books, so this is good middle ground. I can remove the highlights when I'm done! This is me prepping Mechageddon for the Starfinder RPG.

May I present my case: why YOU should play Mechageddon, the final Starfinder Adventure Path. I wrote volume 3 (of 3) and I need people to play this so I can talk about what I wrote!!!!!!
"You should play Mechageddon!" is written over a firey burst. It includes such comments SF1E's Magnum Open, Mechs v Kaiju, Generations-Long Conflict, Third Act Reveals I'm Dying to Talk about, Literally, Let me Talk about the evils of capitalism and the complexity of having a body, relationship-focused and tiny text that says "mommy issues lesbian". The cover for Mechageddon is on the right, which has a sick red mech jumping down at a kaiju.

My final recommendation: If you want a queer space opera that has explicitly LGBTQIA relationships and is VERY interested in character relationships as a driving force for the plot, I loved Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh.

Second: The Spear Cuts Through Water by Simon Jimenez. This book was so good it redefined what a "5 star" read means to me. Epic fantasy, but focusing on ordinary people caught up in the flow of legends (which feels very WicDiv to me!). The writing is beautiful.

Okay, so! Three recommendations. First up: I haven't read it, but Die by Kieron Gillen + Stepanie Hans. It's another Kieron Gillen-written graphic novel about adults being transported to their teen tabletop campaign, a la goth jumangi. You can read the first issue here: imagecomics.com/read/die

Mechageddon! comes out in May as Starfinder 1st Edition's last adventure path. The mech pilots on Daimalko take on the colossi that wander the planet. It's rad as hell - anyone who likes to think about the fragility of bodies, celebrities during war, or big stompy robots should check it out!
