To the Furrydelphia community: Next year will be Furrydelphia's tenth year. Throughout the last ten years, we've always emphasized that we're here for the community to be their best selves. We see Furrydelphia as a place to explore, grow, learn, and discover without fear. A place to find out who you are and meet people who share your interests and experiences. Reflecting on how we can best support this goal while remaining a safe place for all attendees, we've made the decision to make Furrydelphia an 18+ event. We didn't make this decision lightly - we understand that Furrydelphia is a meaningful place to people of all ages, and don't want to exclude anyone. After discussing the needs and wants of our community, however, we realized this is the best way for us to run the programming and create the environment our attendees desire. We understand and regret that some people will be upset by this change, and we are sorry for that.

After six months, they had footage of zero deer and 147 clips of the same coyote pressing the crosswalk button with its paw at sunrise. The animal waits for the walk signal. Steps into the road. Crosses at a trot. Every single time. Biologists believe it learned by watching hikers at the adjacent trailhead. "It's not random," said the lead researcher. "That coyote understands cause and effect better than half our interns." DOT voted unanimously to keep the camera running. The coyote hasn't jaywalked once.

Thursday I had surgery to correct an inguinal hernia that developed last fall, became noticeable in February, and more acute in April. For the next few weeks I’m not able to do much. Lifting is right out. I am super thankful that @desert.butt.dog is at my side. He has been a very good boy.

Anthrocon has been closely monitoring the extreme heat and severe weather situation in Pittsburgh forecast for this weekend. Convention leadership has been in contact with emergency services personnel and other entities regarding this situation.  After careful consideration for the health, safety, and wellbeing of our fursuiters, attendees, and residents of Pittsburgh, Anthrocon has decided to cancel the 2026 Fursuit Parade and Block Party scheduled for 2pm, July 4th.  We know both Anthrocon attendees and our friends in Pittsburgh look forward to this event every year; but the health and safety of all concerned is our paramount priority.  Anthrocon attendees should look for announcements of alternative indoor activities in place of the parade this year. We apologize for the necessity of this decision and hope you’ll continue to enjoy the events throughout the holiday weekend.
