Since the Supreme Court tariff ruling, the Trump admin has refunded over $100 billion in tariff revenue. Trump has taken in over $470 billion not accounting for these refunds, according to Treasury's daily statements. The debt has grown by nearly $4 trillion in the same period.

By early 2026, Trump was repeatedly touting how tariff revenue would help pay off debt. By that point, the national debt had increased more than $2 trillion under Trump. Tariff revenue under Trump had increased by more than $300 billion.
