I don't get the obsession with wanting Nintendo characters in Fortnite. Nintendo want their characters and IPs exclusive on their systems. That's why collabs with Rocket League, Monster Hunter, One Piece etc exist. They just don't want Mario, Link etc appearing on other platforms

Remember: Anything Metroid related announced and released between now and 5th August 2027 counts towards the 40th anniversary celebration - even if Nintendo didn't intend it to be used for that reason specifically. You can celebrate the anniversary all year, it worked for Mario!

I remember when Nintendo revealed Metroid Samus Returns via the Treehouse. What a year that was. It still baffles me why they didn't have that feature in the Nintendo Direct beforehand. Prime 4 only had a png reveal back then too.

I think in terms of new games announcements, I think that Nintendo Direct was a B Tier. The only new game that interested me (that wasn't already announced beforehand or an NS2E) was Xenoblade Genesis. Sure Ocarina of Time Remake news is great, but there was no gameplay for it.

Super Metroid was released in Japan on this day, in 1994 for the Super Famicom. One of the most critically acclaimed Metroid games, and still the best 2D Metroid of all time.

I thought Metroid Prime 4: Beyond was average at best, but people need to stop panicking over the absence of sales data in Nintendo's latest report. The game was released on the 4th December, the cut off date for the report was 31st December - that's less than a month's worth of sales data. Chill.

I remember seeing people speculating DLC possibly being added for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Yeah, I don't think that's going to happen. They could add Vi-O-La skins, but nothing new story related, or expand exploration with new areas. Retro's probably already on their next project.

Metroid: Zero Mission icons have been added to Missions and Rewards, as part of Nintendo Switch Online, for a limited time. There is a Mecha Ridley icon as part of the line up, redeem for 10 Platinum coins. Available until 06/01, however you must play Metroid: Zero Mission first before redeeming.
