Anyone else experienced ‘new’ Outlook rendering emails differently in the reading pane (right) and popped-out window (left)? It’s like the reading panes looses some CSS. Email creasted using the Mailchimp builder.

Hardly the most critical thing but seeing Google incorrectly say Van Dijk scored an own goal (he scored in the correct net but it was first reported to be an own goal by a Sunderland player) hardly gives me confidence is AI. If it gets this easy thing wrong how many complex things does it get wrong?

I had a similar problem on client websites, although admittedly a fair proportion of the traffic was bots scanning for WordPress vulnerabilities etc. I don't use WordPress but it hit my CMS API to see if the URLs exist. AI crawlers have just made this worse by crawling actual URLs.

Whoops! This broke caching your config. Instead you need to load the extensions with a service provider. If you only want the default Storyblok extension then skip this step and the package will handle it for you.

This is great if you want to introduce a field to lots of blocks. For example, I have a custom plugin to manage responsive padding, I can make a JSON file (or export a Block already using it), then merge that field into all the Blocks that need it.

I just updated my @storyblok.com Laravel CLI to introduce merging component fields. The way it works is you create a JSON file of just the new/updated fields you want and run the command specifying the Block to update. artisan ls:merge-component block_name changes.json

It needs a partner package that creates the JSON required to load the icons into Storyblok. Mine is in @laravel.com, but any framework should be able to generate it. The Laravel package will also have useful helpers for displaying the icons such as generating the <use> element.

I’ve been working on a new @storyblok.com plugin (well, technically a reworking of an earlier idea) that loads a folder of SVG symbols from your website and displays them in a custom field for selection and colouring. It returns an ID and colour name ready for the <use> tag! #StoryblokAmbassadors

I enjoy nothing more than animating SVGs. Give each character its own length timeline and you avoid everything looping at the same rate. Makes recording a looped video for sharing impossible though!

Want to save your SVGs in @storyblok.com’s asset manager but still want to be able to inline or manipulate them. Using my @laravel.com package, create a Field class and use file_get_contents() to load the content. Now you can style with CSS, animate, or whatever you wish! #StoryblokAmbassadors

Did you know you can check which components a blocks fieldtype contains in Laravel Storyblok? Here I have a page, I get the ‘block()’ for the content type, then check if the ‘blocks’ field contains a ‘form’ component as a child. ls.sirric.co.uk #StoryblokAmbassadors

Animating the #SVG dash-arrays can give that shaky-line effect (that I hate!) which some cartoons use. Not the best video example as it’s scaled up here, but create an array with lots of random lengths then juggle of offset in #CSS.

I have added a new denylist feature to Laravel Storyblok 2.40.0 making it easy to list URLs that should not hit the Storyblok API. Just create an array of strings or regex in the config. It should help you be kinder to the @storyblok.com API! github.com/RicLeP/larav... #StoryblokAmbassadors

I love how all the timelines look in Firefox for the WriteStuff hero animation at 2025.writestuff.gg. One of the key advantages over using video is each element can have its own rhythm and duration so they don’t have to loop at the same rate. #css #webdev #cssanimation

In #Storyblok I often call my link fields Link, but what if you want to check if the current URL matches the URL of the Link? This little Field class for my @laravelphp package does just that letting you easily highlight active menu items and more. #StoryblokAmbassadors

The folder of SVGs to use and swatches can be set in the plugin’s settings so it can be tailored per site or plugin instance. The selected SVG’s markup is then inserted into the JSON for the page. I could also reference the file’s URL, but I like the raw tags for applying CSS to. #webdev

Custom field plugins in #storyblok are really powerful. We design bespoke icons in our projects, so I needed a way to manage them simply. I created a plugin to load SVGs from a Storyblok Asset folder and also set the stroke colour when it’s inserted into the page. #StoryblokAmbassadors

There might be a nicer way of dealing with this, but I have a project with very long email addresses that cause horizontal scrolling on mobile. Setting max-width based on the viewpoint lets me clip them.

Sometimes, when using fields or plugins in #Storyblok you might need to manipulate or add default content. In #Laravel Storyblok create an init() method on a Field Class matching the field’s name and set the content property. You can add other methods to use in Blade etc too #StoryblokAmbassadors
