Here's the cover for the second Camp Half-Blood book, THE RITE OF APHRODITE, by me and Kyle Lukoff, coming March 30! The Camp Half-Blood books will come out at six-month intervals. I've now returned to revisions of the last Percy senior year book. Best guess, that will be out in late 2027!

Cover art for THE RITE OF APHRODITE. Four demigods ride a fiery chariot into a chasm, with Camp Half-Blood in the background. UK and US covers are shown. The art is basically identical for each version.

I spoke with Rick Riordan & Annabelle Oh about #TheWildZone, the latest installment in the #PercyJackson universe! Naturally, I asked them about K-Pop, scary PDFs, puns, and whether or not anyone accidentally called Annabelle "Annabeth" during the writing. youtu.be/8qSBNfja7u0

On the blog: rickriordan.com/2026/09/the-... Wordpress' "helpful" new AI editor (which I have now turned off) highlighted that the second sentence was too long . . . Yikes. If someone won't read a thirty-five word sentence, I'm guessing they probably won't read a book.

As just announced by Hollywood Reporter. See second screen shot for an explanation / clarification (with alt text available).

$Moderating expectations for those, like me, who aren’t fluent in TV-industry-speak and get easily confused! “In development” / "in the works" does NOT mean we have a series order or a green light. It means Disney paid to have some sample scripts written. That happened over the course of the last year. Now the upper-level executives are considering them and deciding whether or not to green-light the project. From what I have seen, the industry pays untold millions of dollars each year to develop potential projects like this, most of which never see the light of day. Only a tiny fraction of projects “in development” are ever green-lit and filmed. So this isn’t a sure thing by any means, but Angela is amazing! And no, this has no bearing one way or another on the future of Percy Jackson TV on Disney+. I suspect that will all come down to viewer numbers for season three, out in November.$

Looking for a good translation of The Aeneid? Try McGill & Wright's edition, just published in 2025. 🌈 In collaboration with Disney Hyperion, Rick Riordan & Mark Oshiro, Rainbow Crate is pleased to reveal our exclusive hardcase art of The Sun & the Star and The Court of the Dead! 🧵 Note: This is a digital mockup and finished copies may differ slightly.

A graphic with a white brick wall background with a thin gold outline. Along the top it reads “Rainbow Crate Presents” with a rainbow icon between crate and presents. Underneath that it says “Nico Di Angelo Adventures” in black font. Below this, black font reads “A Full Special Edition Set!”. In the middle of the graphic are two 3D mockups of The Sun & the Star and The Court of the Dead with the front case art and printed edge design displayed. Text at the bottom reads “jacket + edges by @/alessia.trunfio”, “hardcase art by @/giulia_blue”, and “endpapers by @/tienwashere”.

From time to time I'll answer questions over on Goodreads. This was from a fan wondering about the co-authoring process for the upcoming Camp Half-Blood series, so I thought I'd share it here.

Rick Riordan Books one and two are done. I am doing my pass on book three right now and am about halfway through. I have read Pablo's pass on book four and it's already great, but I have not yet started my pass. Basically, each co-author writes their draft, based on a detailed outline I created. Then I write my draft, weaving in my own details and additions to the story, so that by the time the book is done, it is a hybrid of my style and theirs. If you were to look at the edited manuscript, you would see that it really is about fifty percent them, fifty percent me, but by the time we get each book cleaned up and copy-edited and we're all happy with it, it's almost impossible (even for us) to say who wrote what sentence or who suggested which idea. It's actually a lot of fun!
