And you have given the ball back to an offense that has gone 3-and-out five times (and did so a sixth time). The original replier said that "he had seen enough of the offense." I had too! I'd rather them try to get two yards than three first downs.

200

The Eagles have had 15 offensive possessions in the third quarter this season. 12 of them have featured a three-and-out (one of which was a turnover on downs).

2172

If you kick, the Rams need two touchdowns and they have four downs on both drives to do it... unlike when it's a 10-point lead, when they would kick a field goal in certain spots. The Rams scored two touchdowns without four downs. Would've won anyway. Pretty clearly the right decision.

200

I know they were banged-up today (so was the Rams defense), but Sean Mannion, Jalen Hurts and the entire Eagles offense should be embarrassed about how bad they have been in second halves. Not even competitive.

3362

People will look at the fourth-down decision, but I think that game showed Sirianni was right to try and score a touchdown there. If you go three (or four) and out on 5 of 6 second-half possessions, you are putting your incredibly banged-up defense in an impossible spot.

Can Sean Mannion give us a first down here? Is that too much to ask?

The Eagles are playing pretty well, all things considered. Can they just play Zach Ertz more if Johnny Mundt is gonna miss blocks? The guy is only supposed to be a good blocker!

3313

Kyle’s been on base three times tonight. Would be nice if there was anyone on base for him. Who hits in front of him again?

We have truly seen a lifetime's worth of playoff bullpen meltdowns in the last four years.

Incredible job by Jesús Luzardo. As much as I do not care for Dave Dombrowski's roster construction, that was a massive trade.

This defense. Woof. This is Johnny Ganz level stuff.

I know it is fruitless complaining about the same thing over and over again on social media, but it really cannot be emphasized enough how terrible this Trea Turner season has been.

Eagles 2-0, what a drive by Jalen Hurts to win it

3300

Eagles red zone defense has been *brutal* to start the season.

1180

Sure, but it has felt like more than that though. Lane bad, Mailata bad, Steen bad too.

Lots of good stuff from Hurts so far today. Second straight week the offensive line has just not been good enough.

The Jesús Luzardo injury is an incredible bummer, no way around it.

Rich Hofmann @richhofmann.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Luzardo injury is such a bummer, there is no way around it. Looking at his pitch counts, it probably has less to do with the one Braves masterpiece than the accumulation of a really heavy post-ASG workload.

The MLB trade deadline is such a crapshoot. Last year, to little fanfare the Phillies trade for Harrison Bader who goes on to have the best two months of his career. This year, the Phillies trade for Luis Arraez who has been so bad he should probably be hitting 7th in the order.

Rich Hofmann @richhofmann.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Disappointing from Duran, but the offense has gotta do better against that pitcher. For whatever reason, the Phillies just have not been a very good offense during day games this season. ⚾ Night games: .731 OPS (11th) ⚾ Day games: .676 OPS (28th)

Rich Hofmann @richhofmann.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Went to look up Jhoan Duran's splits, and was surprised to see he entered today with a lower ERA in non-save situations than save situations. Does not feel that way. Anyway, that is the first really bad week of the season from the Phillies' closer.

I get why he didn't, but I kinda wish Don Mattingly benched Alec Bohm after that baserunning mistake. It is not a matter of singling Bohm out. He's been good today, and is far from the only offender. But I wish the whole team could see a consequence for dumbass baserunning.

The Eagles defense is loaded. Star-level talent at every level, and a legendary coordinator pulling the strings. And yet, I am most intrigued by Jalyx Hunt.
