Just about to say this. My grandad was RAF, but his best mate was tortured in a Japanese camp. He couldn't be around anyone even vaguely oriental. I can also remember being tiny and being told what I couldn't do or say around him, as it would (as we would now say) trigger his PTSD.

The Daniel Craig films were a reboot, that ignored the previous films. The pre-title sequence of Casino Royale showed Bond getting his 00 status. Then M talked about it being too soon to have promoted him. They'll just ignore the last film and reboot again.

The RM commandos Fleming recruited to join 30 Assault Unit (sections of Bond books are lifted from 30 AU training manuals). Fleming was also painfully introverted, so Bond's ability to at home in high class establishments was based on Fleming's rich friend, Ivar Bryce.

Have a read of Nicholas Shakespeare's book 'Ian Fleming: the complete man'. Shakespeare went through Fleming's public and private correspondence, and interviewed the surviving Fleming family members. All agree that Bond was a mixture of: Fleming himself. His older brother Peter (a Commando captain)

Also, David Stirling formed the SAS in July 1941. In his autobiography, Christopher Lee said he volunteered for the RAF after his dad passed away in April 1941. He hadn't completed his RAF training when the SAS was formed in July, so we know he wasn't part of that group.

To be 'that guy' again, Ian Fleming talked many times about Bond being based on himself, his older brother Peter, the RM Commandos he recruited to 30 Assault Unit, and his rich friend Ivar Bryce. Christopher Lee didn't work for any of those people.

Christopher Lee wasn't in the SAS. He was a junior RAF officer, who was grounded due to multiple health issues, so transferred to RAF intelligence. In this role he did give briefings to SAS teams, though.

The OSS is American. You might be thinking of SOE. However, all SOE records were declassified by 2013, and can be searched online at the UK National Archives website. Christopher Lee does not appear in any SOE documents.

His link to Bond was that he was related (by marriage) to Ian Fleming. Lee said in his autobiography that he hunted Nazis as part of an organisation called CROWCASS. However, CROWCASS were a team of desk-based analysts, and didn't have field agents. Christopher Lee doesn't appear in any CROWCASS
