i'm grateful to Silver Sprocket for publishing both Mr. Boop & CRIMEHOT, two comics that not every publisher would touch. that said, the team i worked with on them is mostly gone now. the situation here is depressing and from everyone i've spoken with, nobody's happy. hoping for a positive outcome.

there is zero amount of studying running that will make you a better runner unless you're actually running, and the same goes for comics. maybe you get some advice on tools/shoes?? that's about it. i'm tellin' you dude you just gotta dive in and /do/ it

Some thoughts on self publishing & publishing. I've self published a lot now and I have a lot of feelings on how we talk about it versus traditional indie publishing. www.patreon.com/posts/mess-s...

✨ Hamish Steele ✨ Go-Man Vs. the Star Dragon OUT NOW! @hamishsteele.bsky.social · 19/11/2024

Maybe my new fave artist at Thought Bubble was @richardmercz.bsky.social ! I picked up a bunch of their stuff including No Boyfriends Since Birth! A really funny and sweet romance between two adult men going on their first gay date. Every moment of awkwardness is like a turn in an RPG battle.

Cover for the book No Boyfriends Since Birth by Richard Mercado. It is a square book with a yellow cover featuring two men in different stages of panic.

Inside the comic, the two men sit at a restaurant table. One man says "hello im-" but then their internal monologue kicks in. "Mark started thinking that he had already introduced himself as Mark when they were messaging. Mark realises he already started his sentence and he needs to finish it or it would be more awkward." He continues "I'm Mark!" The other man begins talking "I'm Paolo! Nice to meet-" but then Mark interrupts with "-Alberto, 27 years old from Laguna, nice to meet-"

Both men freeze. Mark is slowly forgetting how to have a simple conversation.
