#photography 11 Hill walking in Norfolk, Suffolk, and Kent. Norwich Cathedral: feeding the five thousand. Probably not with loaves and fishes.
Looking through a big arched doorway with steps leading up to it. Past the doorway we can see a stair rising at an angle first one way, then the other. People are climbing and descending the stairs. There is a sign saying that is the cathedral's refractory and cafe.

A quiet corner in Norwich Cathedral. There are some steps leading up to a very tall wooden door and a window on the left letting light through. There are columns and stonework that you would associate with a cathedral.

#photography 07 Hill walking in Norfolk, Suffolk, and Kent. Another view of Elm Hill in Norwich.
A view of a narrow street with cobbled stones and antiquated buildings on either side. Through the gap between the last two buildings a church is glimpsed. The buildings are very colourful in pastel shades and there are some yellow lamps attached to the first floor. There are lots of wooden beams to be seen.

#photography 06 Hill walking in Norfolk, Suffolk, and Kent. Elm Hill is a wonderful medieval street in Norwich. It's like looking back in time. It was mercifully free of cars.
Elm Hill in Norwich. We can see down a narrow lane with colourful mediaeval buildings on either side. In most of the buildings the first floor overhangs the ground floor, a technique used to give extra space. Apparently this is called jettying.

#photography I found this shot from 2007. A church in Brittany. I'd very much like to return but cannot remember the exact location...
A church interior in Brittany. There are three windows facing the camera, lighting the dark interior. To the right of the frame is an altar, and above the altar is a very large painting of a religious scene.

My wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I asked her if she could put up a tent in the back garden, get some men to have a bit of a scrap in it, and then get one of the men to make a horrible and disturbing remark about Michelle Obama.

#photography The southern end of Brotherswater, taken last week.
The southern end of Botherswater, a small lake in Cumbria, UK.

Three bedraggled sit on the edge of the water, filling the frame. Behind the trees are green fields, and further back hills rise on the left, right and in the centre. There are stone walls in the fields and on the hills. The sky is mainly cloudy with patches of blue. The scene is mostly sunlit, but the hills have darker patches of shade.

Flowing, sinuous lines which (usually) don't overlap. Their colours are sampled from a photograph. Paths are circular or "noisy" or both. Occasionally lines are straight. Images are made with Processing, a software package for artists and others. A unique image is produced each time the program is run.

The former Sun Life building, now known as Matrix House, photographed today in Basingstoke. Shot from the vantage point of the local multi story car park, just after a bit of shopping, and before a shower. Oh, the glamour... #photography

Turn your sound on, the atmosphere changes everything. This year marks 100 years since the BBC first broadcast the Shipping Forecast. I’m creating an art collection inspired by it. Geeky! Here’s a glimpse of the journey so far. If you know someone who would like it, please share it with them.

I stood in the middle of this room and pointed my camera upwards. Then I cloned myself out of the image. From Olafur Eliasson's exhibition at the Tate Modern. #photography
A photo taken in the Tate Modern Gallery in London. There is a white walled square room with a light coloured wooden floor. There are openings for people to walk through on the left and right. Approximately 35 people stand mainly on the edges. The ceiling is mirrored and we are looking down from directly above, although the photo was taken looking upwards at the ceiling. I cloned myself out of the centre of the photo.
