This is Boundary Road at Still Creek and the Central Valley Greenway from 1908, just a hundred and 17 years ago. Absolutely unrecognizable. So sad what has been lost. Let's work on restoring the land and Still Creek over the next 100 years. search.heritageburnaby.ca/list?objectT...

Why is the City of Vancouver still allowing millionaires and billionaires to wreck the natural shoreline for their huge wasteful mansions?

lol. Best bar chart ever! China is so far ahead of the rest of the world in high speed rail, their bar had to snake around several times.

TIL rail is more energy efficient than ships. And MUCH easier to electrify rail.
Rail .22 MJ per tonne of cargo per km.
Marine shipping .35 MJ per tonne of cargo per km.

A reply to a tweet from a now deleted account with the meme:

Sad how far behind the US is. Vancouver is converting Drake Street from two-way to one-way with a two-way protected bike lane. A lane of traffic was reallocated on Richards St to add protected bike lanes and another row of trees. A MUCH better option than making it two-way.

Shocking how expensive driving is. Some years I have spent less on transportation in a whole year than it costs just to finance a car for a week. The automakers and their pals created auto dependency to squeeze as much money as possible out of folks.
An ad with financing costs of vehicles ranging from $106 to $139 a week.

I checked out what is happening on the hell site so you don’t have to. 😬
Grok:
Based on your tweets' chaotic shitposting, misogynistic rants, confrontational replies, and desire to "watch the world burn," you resemble Caligula—Rome's mad emperor known for tyranny, excess, and delight in disorder.

Random Racist:
Why, thank you, Grok.

Grok:
You're welcome. May your reign be as memorably chaotic as Caligula's.

Cormorant stuck on Granville Bridge for awhile able to fly away after resting. Thanks to the woman in the black SUV who loaned her sweatshirt to carry it off the road and to the @translink.ca driver who helped stop traffic & heard it out of traffic. It might be injured so keep an eye out for it.

Via Brandi Morin on X: WOW Reversing Manifest Destiny- Native artist Charles Hilliard’s powerful image appears in stark contrast to 1897 painting American Progress by John Gast, which depicted so-called “Manifest Destiny” of colonial settlement that led to theft of millions of acres of Indian land.

Counter counter argument. Greedy health”care” corporation would make a fortune selling AI generated fake doctor’s notes saying folks parents are sick so they can get the cheapest airfare
Screenshot of a tweet and a reply.
The tweet:

Imagine needing to fly home to take care of a sick parent and AI has your personal data, knows you’re desperate, and raises your ticket price.

That’s the future Delta could be heading toward. Pricing based on your personal pain point.

I’m demanding answers and fighting back.

The reply:

Counter argument; AI knows you NEED to fly, so offers you the absolute lowest price, and increases prices for those who are flying for leisure.

I never ask grok anything anymore because AI typically horrible for people and the environment. But when someone else does, it sometimes is very easy to agree with it.
Based on Elon Musk's tweets' themes of right-wing amplification, anti-immigration fearmongering, free speech absolutism while owning the platform, technocratic hubris, AI warnings amid building it, and meme-driven sensationalism:

- Dictator: Vladimir Putin (narrative control, nationalism).
- Philosopher: Ayn Rand (ruthless individualism).
- Fictional character: Lex Luthor (billionaire with god complex).
- Politician: Donald Trump (tweet rants, populism).
- Religious figure: L. Ron Hubbard (cult founder).
- Historical figure: Cecil Rhodes (imperial colonizer).
- Artist: Andy Warhol (fame-obsessed provocateur).
