RAF Fairford: UK-Iranian national arrested in air base terror investigation
British counter-terrorism police have said that they arrested a man with dual British-Iranian nationality in their investigation into the incident that occurred on Sunday near the RAF Fairford military base in southwest England.
The 27-year-old man was arrested in London on suspicion of "preparing a terrorist act", police said, adding that a second person, a 26-year-old British man, had been questioned.
UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said on Wednesday that there were "strong indications" Iran played a role in events near the air base in Gloucestershire last Sunday, when five men were arrested on suspicion of terrorist offences.
The base has been used for American operations throughout the US-Israeli war on Iran.
