Happy The Knave and the Moon Day! I wanted to draw something for the occasion! Soooo excited to finish this duology ⚔️🦋 [ #theknightandthemoth #theknaveandthemoon ]

The art features the cast of character from the book: The Knight and The Moth. Everyone is depicted as chibis, with Sybil in the center and Rory, Maude, the gargoyle, and Benji in a circle floating around her. In between each characters are the divine objects in the story, which are a coin, an inkwell, an oar, a loomstone, a chime and a moth.

Redesigns of some old bug characters from way back when! These three were part of an animation I made in high school! 🦋🐞 [ Tags: #characterdesign #bugart #animation #conceptart ]

The image shows art of an artist redrawing an old character into their current style. The character is a cartoon butterfly. On the left is her old sketch, showing the butterfly in a blue sketch. The version on the right is updated, showing the same character fully lined and colored. She's a butterfly with tan skin, four arms and orange wings. She has a short, brown, bob-like haircut. Her outfit consists of a sleeveless, green, collared top, dark gray pants, and purple flats.

Similar to the previous picture, this is the artist's redraw of two more cartoon characters: A ladybug mother and son. On the left is an old sketch of them in dark red, with the mother ladybug holding her son's hand.

Just a few spaces away are their updated designs. The mother ladybug is rounder and has a sassier demeanor, with one eyebrow smugly raised. She's rounder and more plus-sized in shape, wearing a pink, buttoned top with a white collar. She has a Mickey Mouse-esc pattern on her face, having her "hair" or "fluff" be black with peach markings on her face, namely around her eyes and a large portion of her snout. She has a sharp curl around her head and two fluffed out points on the side of her face. She's holding a matching pink cellphone in one hand, while the other rests on her hip in a fist.

Her son is to her left, looking visibly gurmpier compared to his previous iteration. He's more square in shape, namely his body and head. He has two spikes on the top of his head, acting as hair. He's wearing a dark blue overshirt over a faded, light blue shirt with beige cargo shorts that reach the top of his shoes. His hands are in irritated fists to his sides, glaring and showing his teeth towards the camera.

Here's a Kappa character lineup of a personal project I worked on late last year! It's called "Kappamilya" and follows a family of Kappas trying to fit in in a world where fairytale creatures are starting to live alongside humans :) [ #characterdesign #animation #kappa #yokai #conceptart ]

A cartoon lineup of a family of Kappas. The first two are younger, smaller kappas. The first is wearing glasses and a small straw hat with a butterfly resting atop. He wears a gray shirt with blue sleeves and gray shorts. The second kappa is more shapely, wearing a red shirt with flowers and sandals on his webbed feet. The third is the mother of the first kappa, a slightly wide kappa with a flower floating in the water basin atop her head. She wears a whistle around her neck and arm floaties with purple shorts. The fourth is a much larger kappa, with wavy, unruly hair and a beak with a wide smile. He only wears red shorts.

Nightshade term: muppets

"I meant it...when I said I wanted to dance." I completed Slay the Princess last month with some friends of mine and 100%'d the rest on my own! Such a lovely game, I enjoyed it so much 🤍🖤 [ #slaytheprincess ]

The image depicts the two main characters from the visual novel, Slay the Princess. The Princess is on the left side of the piece, holding The Long Quiet's hand as the two look at each other longingly.

The princess is monochromatic, consisting of mainly whites and grays in her palette. She has long, flowing, white hair, and white glowing ribbons wrapping around her poofy, long dress. She smiles as she finally gets to hold The Long Quiet, with one of her hands being held by him, and the other holding onto the back of his neck.

The Long quiet is depicted as a larger, bird-like creature. He is the opposite of the princess: dark gray with white outlines. He has two sets of wings, with a long waves of his tail flowing behind him.

Look you just have to make the cool weird shit that excites you. You must. In this world besieged by bland, scrubbed boring, computer slop, you must. Make the thing you’re embarrassed to make, the thing that feels “too much” because otherwise we get drowned in a sea of cowardly work made by a button
