My current WIP is The Mystic Manor of Klavier Kalterfall, a mad hybrid of fantasy and cozy(ish) murder mystery. Eight eccentric guests, an absentee host, a weekend of parlor games at the world's most magical Manor, and a dash of murder. Will Mona catch the killer in time? #RevPit #RevPitWaiting

My largest writing hurdle is expecting things to come out perfect in my first draft. I always get caught up trying to craft ideal phrases and sentences, which absolutely obliterates any forward momentum in drafting. "Do I use 'moment' too often? No, I can't start a sentence with 'Then' again..."

That's my writing Achilles heel... I will agonize over a certain sentence or phrase, writing and deleting and writing for a half an hour until it feels right. I need to just write, knowing that it'll be refined later.

Mona’s brain is wired a little differently, and she notices a lot of things that others miss. It’s what makes her so uniquely talented at solving puzzles and mysteries, but it also makes truly connecting with someone else difficult. I primarily write different flavors of fantasy. My MG quadrilogy is historical fiction fantasy, my current WIP is a fantasy murder mystery, and my next project is a MG contemporary fantasy with horror elements. I think fantasy is like literary chicken: it kinda goes with everything.
