Ok - you’re another one of the unserious people who think that people you agree with and only people you agree with would always be the ones deciding what that national curriculum would be.

You’re in luck — they already don’t have one. (Of course, neither does *any* network, cable or otherwise.)

That was the only good thing about the Terror.

I’d rather have that than have the federal government forcing every school district to teach that. Why don’t you tell us why you’re apparently totally fine with Trump setting the curriculum for every district in the country?

Two all the way, a coffee milk, and a Del's @ri.oldfolkshome.org · 9h

So you’re fine with the current administration setting the curriculum for everywhere in the country then? Or are you instead one of the arrogantly stupid (stupidly arrogant?) people on here who think it’ll only ever be people like you making those decision?

Also progressives (BlueSky edition, anyways): The govt needs to be able to decide what is “truth” and what is “lies” and only allow the media to distribute “truth”.

Hell, they got furious when hamburgers and burritos cost more even though (because?) a big chunk of that increase was because the people who made them had better salary increases than they’d had in years.

Cue the "the Democrats would be centre-right in any European country" anklebiters. As if what the Dems would be in Europe has any meaning or relevance whatsoever in the US.

There’s even a famous English folk tale about that very thing!

These people seem to be oblivious to the existence of freezers.

Oh I saw it. I just didn't think that could possibly be what you actually meant because it so undercut your "my smol bean friend didn't really do anything wrong" whine.

Way to conveniently avoid her question. Got any cites to objective coverage of your friend’s case?

As for "on here", BlueSky gets more and more antisemitic by the day, as even increasing numbers of lefty accounts on here admit and worry about.

Many college students at many colleges (like Columbia) were and are scum-sucking antisemites, which they've proven multiple times, right from the beginning when did stuff like trying to prevent Jews from accessing various parts of the campus.

If only people could do things called “replies” or “threading”. If only.

I mean the fucking high school in an UMC town within 128 up here in MA, which loves to talk about how many kids go to college nevertheless counts college visits towards the “miss >6 days in a quarter and you automatically fail your classes no matter how high your grades actually are”. Total BS!!

I think a bunch of that is driven by state and federal funding numbers tied to attendance.

You need to keep up with what’s going on with <X> if you want to make persuasive arguments against it that don’t blow up in your face. And the anti-AI people often fail on multiple axes (water, capability, etc.) on this.

Two all the way, a coffee milk, and a Del's @ri.oldfolkshome.org · 05/10/2026

One of these days people who are against <X> will realize that while making stupid arguments against <X> might make them feel good and get backslaps from the bubble, it will overall only discredit the campaign against <X>.

Everything old is new again, Tom. So many of the complaints in that piece from the then-old guard and worries of what the then-new commander might do map right onto the idiocies of the current administration.

And it's an interesting piece to read if you can run across it. (If you are a Boston Globe subscriber (even if only on their $1 for 6 months promo) you have access to the full archives, which is how I could read it.)

*some* of those changes — in particular abolishing the kangaroo courts that Catherine Lhamon loved and lusted after — were correct in 2016 and are correct now.

I wouldn’t go as far as “doesn’t care about you one way or the other”. They’re always going to care about you less than they care about the company and will act accordingly.

I gotta say I was not expecting this from my Pats. I had picked a final score of 38-13 Bills.

Wasn’t it literally that? (Or am I confusing them with a different AI company) — that them pirating instead of buying the books they used for training was the problem, not the training itself?
