I uploaded Seen to Amazon as an experiment. I'd published plenty of stories on Wattpad, but I wanted to learn how self-publishing worked. So I picked a novella I was proud of, but also one I knew was too short for most traditional publishing opportunities, and decided to figure it out. (2/8)

Depends on your goals. I’ve been on Wattpad for almost a decade, have won Watty’s, been in Stars, Creators, Originals, etc, but things have changed a lot recently. Fewer opportunities to monetize, mostly. But there is still community and active readers who’ll give great feedback.

The whole self-promotion marketing thing is 😬 Like, I get that if you self-publish, then you are also the marketing department. But independent presses want your “marketing plan” when you submit and even successful authors are expected to be visible on social media. It’s so not my thing…
