Fiddling with the black mage /vpose and a frame reminded me of this. #gposers #elezen

An elezen has his hand extended towards you. At the bottom there is a dialogue box that reads: "Come, let's take Ibuprofen together."

✨🦋 Long Forgotten Magics 🦋✨ #ModlessMonday | #StudioNox | #viera

The attic had been forgotten; boarded up, and used for the items long been abandoned. Needing somewhere to escape from the cold night, the young mage had accepted the offer of “the only room available”. It was better than nowhere.

A quick dusting and lighting of candles was all she had been able to manage. Removing cobwebs made a difference, and the wind was trapped outside. The fire of the candles soon started to warm the air around them, their light glinting off the items around the attic, bringing the Viera’s eyes repeatedly back to a book.

Unlike everything else it seemed dust could not settle on it, and time might have faded the colours of all else, it remained vibrant. Part of her felt it was there by mistake, and therefore not for her eyes, but a large part was such it called her named. The book was meant for her, and so, to picked it up and she read.

Page after page of spells unfurled before her, magics which she had not yet learned and many she hadn’t understood. Yet here, finally, their language was revealed. Unsure if the knot in her stomach was from fear or excitement, she turned to a page of summoning. Something small, yet previously not within her capabilities.

Standing, as instructed, she focused her intentions and pictured a butterfly from her dreams within her mind. Forcing her eyes to remain open, she repeated the words on the page, carefully sounding out each syllable. Nothing happened.

Taking a step forward, as if she could move into the spell, she repeated the final line a second time, and with it the world changed. True, the attic remained dusty and cold. Her boots still had a hole in them, and the storm raged outside, but now there was magic.

Blue lights and sparks rose from the book, causing her eyes to widen and a smile to grow. And from those magic’s rose not only the sparkling blue butterfly of her dreams, but also a feeling of hope she had not felt in so long. One of purpose. Of a future reborn ~ from the pages of a book.
