I knew it was wearing on my dad at the time too because the normal spitfire attitude to toss a lure into the lake was skipped because 'we just want to get up there'. I don't like my dad much but there was one thing he did right, he took me outside, and I've seen some COOL shit in California.

I vividly remember this hike being different than usual, the soft ElDorado earth replaced with solid and decomposed Granite. There is little rest from the impact of walking, especially with ill fitting basketball shoes, that I hiked with, what? I was a kid.

Lake Aloha is a shallow Alpine lake and while there are a few of them in the area this is the largest, it's a backwater reservoir that was probably more than likely quite important to the Waší:šiw (Washoe) in the area. While the pictures used are not mine, I have been to Lake Aloha.

So I work in the paint industry and I had a customer ask me the difference between colors and when I explained that the difference is colorant added and nothing else. He looked at me, an associate with 8 years of experience, and said "I'll just ask chatgpt to see what it says" in a snarky way.
