Was social media democracy? Not exactly. But very few things are pure democracy. It had its democractic affordances. Those were drivers of Musks purchase of Twitter, Web 3.0 enclosure etc

This was a tweet from Michael Hobbes a while back and I’ve seen nothing to contradict it yet: “I think we'll look back on the last decade as a time when social media gave previously marginalized groups the ability to speak directly to elites and, as a result, elites lost their minds.”

Yea it would be cool if the logic of good reasons held but my regular experience is that they don't really matter. Every now and then they do at the margins but even between chair and admin it's rarely an actual conversation

America was an empty mall. America was shoddy caulk oozing from a vinyl arc in a historic heatwave. America was a brutishly redacted Frederick Douglass speech on foam posterboard in a tractor trailer Freedom Truck. America was not even selling corndogs. www.artnews.com/art-in-ameri...

A tough day at the Axios HR department
It's my last week @axios.

I joined soon after launch in 2017 not knowing I was boarding a rocket ship. Immensely grateful to my colleagues and proud of what our ragtag startup has become.

Next week I'll join the incredible national security team @WSJ. Can't wait to get started!

This is not protocol for giving notice. Please contact the People Team
