josh rhed @rhed.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Three Hopes Crimson Blaze w/ Byleth "Your actions this chapter will have major consequences on the outcome of this story" so that was a lie. Can't believe they ever thought Arval would be a sympathetic character??? Glad to finally be done with this game, lots of fun to play but not to read 000
josh rhed @rhed.bsky.social · 17/09/2026None of This is True Nobody in the book club liked this one hahaha. Some good ideas but really relied on like...some really insane assumptions of its audience that were frankly pretty offensive. The Netflix True Crime screenplay framing of it also just was not very successful or well executed 100
josh rhed @rhed.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Three Hopes: Azure Gleam Would have actually been pretty decent if not for the way Edelgard is handled! That felt pretty insanely bad! Ashe shines as always however, and it was a joy to have Rodrigue. Would have preferred the elder Gautier stay far away though 120
josh rhed @rhed.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Three Hopes: Golden Wildfire i don't want to talk about it 100
josh rhed @rhed.bsky.social · 07/09/2026Oh wow, if you're interested in letting go of Rubaiyat is there any possible way I could get my hands on it? My Persian great uncle recently passed and it made me want to connect with his heritage more 110
josh rhed @rhed.bsky.social · 06/09/2026Three Hopes: Scarlet Blaze (w/o Byleth) Really, really messy writing and many of the characters are downright butchered (Hubert I'm sorry for what they did to you), and feels very weird that the center conflict is...Edelgard feeling immense guilt over reasonably distrusting Shez? Great finale tho 110
josh rhed @rhed.bsky.social · 06/09/2026LOTR War of the Rohirrim I really shouldn't even dignify this with an entry. Looked pretty but was incredibly vapid and EXTREMELY sexist while trying to masquerade itself as feminist??? Also the only likable character is exiled for 90% of the movie 110

josh rhed @rhed.bsky.social · 05/09/2026The Mill House Murders Not as good as Decagon, but REALLY strong follow up. Cast is less developed but a nice focus is put on the pivotal players, and the house really has a life of its own. Incredibly solid mystery but I won't lie, the last page was not my favorite spot to end on 100
josh rhed @rhed.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (rewatch w/ pals) I don't know if another piece of media will ever make me feel the way this show does, it hits on every rewatch. Was so proud of my friends for understanding the ending and also recognizing the final priest's identity!! Many discussions had! 110
josh rhed @rhed.bsky.social · 31/08/2026This was one of my favorites! Funnily enough I somehow neglected to examine the balloon basket itself for 99% of the game but got this dialogue. Interesting how different playthroughs can be 000

josh rhed @rhed.bsky.social · 19/08/2026Deltarune Chapter 5 This is definitely my favorite chapter, everything spoke to me and I had such a good time. Probably the most fun chapter specific mechanic, I had a lot of fun with it. All of the writing hit and I'm extremely endeared to the new characters (who could have guessed). Dield? 110

josh rhed @rhed.bsky.social · 09/08/2026The Decagon House Murders This might be the best mystery novel I've ever read. Extremely tight, shows its inspirations freely but stands on its own, some REALLY interesting choices in how the story is told that were super enjoyable. Loved Kawaminami in particular. Easy recommend to anyone. 120
