The dev was kind of rude in response to me as well. Sharing it just as a paper trail and because it confirms this game specifically won't be connected to the GenAI models. I will not be engaging with this game myself. My response to the inquiry first and then the reply I got back for full context.

Screenshot of an email from Rhaps to Nick (the dev behind the game).
"
Hi Nick,

I took a look around your game, site, and the LuminidsAI that's in development and I will have to decline. I do not support any game that has positive connections to any GenAI models (which are mentioned as optional model connections on the LuminidsAI site).

Rhaps"

Screenshot of the email reply from Nick to me (Rhaps).
"LuminidsAI is the technology that powers the Luminids, a continuity layer to provide emotional response, memory, context, awareness and care behind their decisions to the Luminids. It can be connected to a model if the studio wishes; I won't be connecting it to any models for Luminids myself for the game Luminids.

The vision behind LuminidsAI is a tech-for-good play to help our AI models make better, memory driven, contextual decisions.

Maybe ask next time before going so anti-AI.

Nick"

I got a business inquiry from a game called Luminids and wanted to give a heads-up that the character AI model behind it allows for optional connection to GenAI models which is a big nope from me. Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/4070510/... CRI Model: luminids.ai/platform/

Screenshot from the linked LuminidsAI website with the following text:
Connectors optional.

Model connectors are designed to turn a character's state into words. The character keeps its history and beliefs when the model changes.

Photo of thirteen Pikachu cards from the 30th collection arranged in a four by three grid with one extra centered on top. Starting in the bottom-left: a rotund Pikachu with sparks around him, a Pikachu using volt tackle, a Pikachu peering and waving upsidedown at the viewer, a Pikachu hugging a great ball shaped pillow while surrounded by other plush toys, a Pikachu staring up at the viewer with a wide smile on his face, a Pikachu squishing his face between two staircase rungs, a Pikachu with an angry frown and sparks near their cheeks, a Pikachu using agility so it looks like there are multiple of him, a Pikachu smiling while standing on grass with his front leg raised, a Pikachu surrounded by electricity with skyscrapers in the background, a Pikachu stuffing his face with berries, a Pikachu Ex smiling with his arms outwards in a diving forwards pose, and a Pikachu Ex full art with many Pokemon cameos including a photo-bombing Slowpoke in the bottom-right.

Did a second attempt at the Pokemon energy card doodling to test if the two posca marker variations I had from old art surprise boxes were opaque enough to make buying posca worth it. Dark brown was a soft tip posca, A+ opaque. Red was a full brush rip. Light brown, black, white were my off-brand.

Photo of the Pokemon Eevee as a paint marker doodle on a fighting energy card. The Eevee is smiling slightly with a little snaggle tooth. Here's one example. Google translate launched with a statistical machine translation model in 2006 (first image). In 2016 they used the GNMT neural translation model and in 2020 they transitioned to a transformer encoder and an RNN decoder (second image). Methods change. (cont.)

Screenshot of text: Because we want to provide everyone with access to all the world's information, including information written in every language, one of the exciting projects at Google Research is machine translation. Most state-of-the-art commercial machine translation systems in use today have been developed using a rules-based approach and require a lot of work by linguists to define vocabularies and grammars.

Several research systems, including ours, take a different approach: we feed the computer with billions of words of text, both monolingual text in the target language, and aligned text consisting of examples of human translations between the languages. We then apply statistical learning techniques to build a translation model. We have achieved very good results in research evaluations.

Screenshot of text with two headings at the top followed by the body of the text.

Advances for Both High- and Low-Resource Languages.

Hybrid Model Architecture.

Four years ago we introduced the RNN-based GNMT model, which yielded large quality improvements and enabled Translate to cover many more languages. Following our work decoupling different aspects of model performance, we have replaced the original GNMT system, instead training models with a transformer encoder and an RNN decoder, implemented in Lingvo (a TensorFlow framework). Transformer models have been demonstrated to be generally more effective at machine translation than RNN models, but our work suggested that most of these quality gains were from the transformer encoder, and that the transformer decoder was not significantly better than the RNN decoder. Since the RNN decoder is much faster at inference time, we applied a variety of optimizations before coupling it with the transformer encoder. The resulting hybrid models are higher-quality, more stable in training, and exhibit lower latency.

I skimmed the actual study and think this part was very important yet seems to have been left out of the summary article (I might have just missed it though). So it seems like every single avocado oil chip brand they tested was inconsistent at least once. Suffering.

Screenshot with text from the scientific study linked in the original post's summary article: "For the two avocado oil chip products classified as consistent, two different production lots were collected to assess lot-to-lot variability. In both cases, only one lot met the criteria for consistency, whereas the second lot was considered inconsistent. These findings indicate measurable lot-to-lot variation and highlight the importance of batch-level verification when assessing ingredient authenticity in processed foods as a company may be sourcing from multiple suppliers for the same ingredient."
