I can’t stop thinking about Control Resonant and Ace Combat 8. Two very different video games that share a common theme of hope and two games that feel like the last of a dying breed of sincere AAA experiences. Almost like a miracle that they exist in the face of GTA, etc.

To those who knew Papstr, he died yesterday from an apparent cardiac arrest. He was 33. He was an extremely dear friend to me.

Haven't watched it in so long but I watched Star Wars: The Phantom Menace with @twilthero.bsky.social @moonlightp.bsky.social and Red . I honestly still like this movie, even if episode 4-6 clears. Pod Racing and the final light saber duel is still one of the best.

Zetztz done. Might go back to an old Kamen Rider I missed now as My-th episodes build up a bit more.

Happy that people enjoyed Though I Am an Inept Villainess. Figured it would've gotten ignored since it's a similar setting to Apothecary Diaries and people didn't want to check another one. Happy for another cour too. Happy Doga Kobo worked on it.

LRP I wish RPGs were more flexible around the idea of encounters. Like if DQ kept random encounters for caves/dungeons, but for the world map it isn't, that wouldn't be so bad. Also Metaphor one of the rare recent games where enemy placements in a dungeon was intentional and mattered.

its also cool and good for the player to be in a position where they're low on resources and still have to deal with combat

Learned that one guy that worked on MGK's JJK rap thing did the Steel Ball Run ending. With this and the producer being a rapist, the ED song is so cursed. I feel so bad for Jojo fans.

Learned that Ar Tonelico 2 got a retranslation patch with fixes. Excited to try this down the road. I still have my PS2 copy but NISA added so many bugs and other stuff that I never ended up finishing it. www.projectmetafalica.com

Finished off the first season of City Hunter and had lots of fun with it. Also got surprised with a ship that says Ys Falcom. With this and how Trails Through Daybreak takes inspiration from City Hunter, you can tell the feeling is mutual on how much they like each others works.

Playing more Three Houses so I can get started on FW. The animations and aesthetics make me a little sad. Engage came after it but, I find the animations and hitstop can be unappreciated by people. Also Echoes came before 3H and that looks great still. Glad FW looks to be much better than 3H.

Considering how much I like Persona 3 OG for being difficult in scheduling in a blind playthrough and the Atelier Arland games, I think I’ll adore Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave. How committal it sounds and going with the flow sounds like the friction I miss in these time based games.

Although I was initially bummed out that the new Magic Knight Rayearth remake's OP wouldn't be Yuzurenai Negai, I thought about what Falcom did to one of my favorite openings in Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter and you know, I'm totally okay with not potentially tarnishing Yuzurenai Negai's legacy.

The best part of being an artist is that you can just draw whatever dumb idea comes to your head at 1am

A scene parodying the Neon Genesis Evangelion scene of Asuka and her Eva unit getting pierced by the spear of longinus. In this scene, Linguini and Remy from Pixar's Ratatouille take the place of the EVA unit and Asuka respectively. Linguinis eye is pierced by a fork version of the spear and Remy is depicted in an inset where he is grabbing his eye and screaming like the anime. There are anime subtitles at the bottom that say "AHHHHHHHHH!"
