Curious! ÖBB originally let me book it (changing at Tarvisio for Vienna), but then sent an email saying it was no longer possible and rerouting via St Veit/Salzburg. But TrenItalia insistent (online, platform announcement, Italian conductor) that it did stop in Tarvisio. Diversion confusion then?

@seatsixtyone.bsky.social Can you throw any light on this? ÖBB insists the 14:34 from Mestre to Munich doesn’t stop at Tarvisio Boscoverde (including on the train itself, and via multiple emails redirecting us). Trenitalia (and on platform at Mestre) says it does. (Spoiler: it does!)

If it’s four different folks, it’s a different strokes. As the proverb makes adequately clear

It would be impressive if an LLM could hallucinate such fascinating pranks

This page used to contain the claim that players could, only once in their lifetime (on the player’s honour), at moment of greatest need or peril, play Fire (which beats the other three). This was followed by a paragraph on Fire’s use in tournaments and attempts to use Fire twice in a lifetime

Mine (Tahoe) has not either... it does have "hange" though, which is the John Cleese "Ministry of Housinge (it was spelt like that on the van)" version of "hang"

How long before people are just able to _read_ markdown syntax as easily as ‘normal’ punctuation, without it being visually rendered?

Do you not think someone else added the punctuation as a joke? (Looks like it was written with a slightly thicker pen — but of course I defer to actual paleographers on this matter![!!!])

I’m from Bristol and people love that Cary Grant was from there. Also I think he was at the same school at the same time as Paul Dirac
