Chromium *with its own Blink engine*, running on iOS. 👀 Faster than Safari. Supports features that Safari doesn't. Presumably ships with l/v/h viewport units that are not utterly broken. And this is just a prototype. www.linkedin.com/pulse/test-d... 1/n

Here you go! (Except I've been told that the guy in the middle is, in fact, not Jake. Maybe a little bit of AI magic can fix that? 😅)

I have feelings about this upcoming "Ask to browse" feature. I get it. There's all sorts of things on the web that you don't want your kids to encounter. But lots of parents are going to toggle that thing on, and then all those kids will grow up inside Apple's Walled Garden. Apps only.

The DMA simply requires Apple to give competing AI systems the same access that Apple has. So everything they list here is what Siri AI has access to, or they wouldn't be required to share that access.

A version of `width: fit-content` that only takes the actual space it needs for wrapped text. So in the example here, I'd like the message box to fit the text and not have the extra space at the right side. This should also work with text-wrap `pretty` and `balanced` ;)

Imagine a world where you could just switch browsers instead of having to enable lockdown mode (and block web content) support.apple.com/en-us/126776 (To be fair, they have emergency patches going as far back as iOS 15, so most users should be covered)

Adam F's music is pretty much unavailable via streaming services (god knows why). It took me 20 yrs to find the albums Colours and KAOS, but now I have them. On CD. (And also safely backed up and available as lossless flac via my Plex server). 🤗

So now Apple says that "the DMA is not benefiting consumers in the form of lower prices". Sure. Fine. But maybe, just *maybe*, we're not seeing those benefits because Apple has never truly complied, has made it as difficult as possible for businesses to take advantage of the DMA? 5/5

We're talking about us, the people, depending on two companies that act as the single gateway for software to reach our phones. These companies just went ahead and bent the knee to Trump & Co, and did their bidding. No court order. Not even a formal complaint. 3/3

We could really use some deep and continuous reporting on this. From the comments, it looks like people already see through Apple's charade, but it really helps if actual journalists write about it, too. Like, repeatedly. Please 😅 @arstechnica.com @theverge.com @davidpierce.xyz
