A REWILDING MOMENT… Jagged branches twist skyward, stubbornly defying the passage of the years, of the decades. Morning sun glints off of a trunk hardened and smoothed by summer sun and the winds of the Roaring 40s. #photography #blackandwhitephotography #trees #Tasmania

The first flowers of the season bloom on the apricot. The plum, too. Nearby, the golden spheres are Cape gooseberries (Physalis peruviana). Out front, the wattle trees are in bloom. The first sign of spring. #Gardening #Flowers #FruitTrees #permaculture #Tasmania

Just another sunrise here on the Tasmanian coast. After a display of warm morning colour, it disappeared to replaced by the grey clouds we now have. A cloudy sky means no chance seeing an Aurora tonight, if there is one thanks to the solar geomagnetic storm. #Tasmania

Built in 1917, the Nancy was a 10.7m ferry on the Derwent River in Hobart, Tasmania and is now at the Wooden Boat Centre. Constructed of huon pine, a timber indigenous to Tasmania’s West Coast, cool temperate rainforest. The timber was used for ship building because it does not rot in the water.

Diagonal lines. In photographic terms, diagonal lines are said to add strength to a composition. I suppose this might be because some people see them as suggesting movement. It was just the starkness of the image which attracted me. So I picked up my phone and made a picture.
