It really does get sillier every year. I know for a fact I have Polish through my German gm, but that's completely gone, as is the small bit of Jewish she gave me, while hers just went UP. Mind you that one appears & reappears with each update. The more they drill down, the more unlikely it gets.

Generalise, much? Some of us find self-checkout a frustrating pain to use, so prefer going to a human who is actually being paid, but we are also happy to wait longer for a cashier and still be polite to them. People dislike SC for many reasons. That doesn't automatically mean they're assholes.

About time. It's all based on the celebration of the suffering of Catholics anyway. Years of bloody persecution led to a desperate and foolish act, itself leading to centuries of us all crowing that they failed. Few people even know, or care, about its origins anyway. I wouldn't miss it. 🤷‍♀️

Frustratingly I can't find out much about her life. I know who her family is, but that's about it. Her brother worked for the King in Oxford during the ECW, so it's tentatively possible there's a link there to aristocrats, but it'd be a guess. 🧐

It looks like that's the most likely. She's connected to a not-too-shabby family in Luton, and it was one of them who notified her brother of her death, so perhaps there's something there?🤷‍♂️

How curious! Of course the next question is who! 🤔

The young drivers in NI complaining about new graduated rules on licences need to wind their necks in. You don't know how to drive just coz you passed a test. 6mths of further practice without mates in the back may actually save your life. Driving is a skill, not a privilege or a social club.

It's not that simple. Everyone does their own thing and I have no cause to meet or speak with anyone around here. Also I find people generally exhausting and problematic. For my sanity I just stay in my house (and listen to Mr Drug Dealer driving away late at night for a sale). 🙂

I once had a mercifully short temp job with a property management company that ran leasehold. They were crooks, scammers & scum, sending huge 'communal' bills nobody could afford. It put me off ever, EVER considering leasehold as an option. Can't stand Rayner, but if she pulls this off...👏👏👏
