I can’t believe we’re back to medieval level conflicts like “local merchant princes attempt to bribe theologians and the Pope’s advisors so the Pope will issue a favorable proclaimation”

I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:

Screenshot of a Tweet from Pope Leo XIV. It reads:

"In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgen to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."

New stickers for NYCC!

Three individual stickers: one says “is their fic of that?”, the next says “they don’t know I have a stomachache”, and the third says “a 200k slow burn would fix me”. There is also a roll of small heart stickers that each say “kudos +1”

I keep thinking about how in the midst of all the AI garbage there’s a big chance the 90s magazine advertisements of “black serif font on a white page with one photograph” should make a comeback

I’m playing fire emblem fortunes weave so slow because I am savoring it (I haven’t even finished my first flame lord (Leda)) which is great and all, but it also means I haven’t had the time to know all the characters yet??? I have no idea who my favorites are. all of them are my favorites.

A tabloid sized paper with 4 copies of a print. The print is in aqua and fluorescent pink Riso, and depicts a watery surface and text reading “banning books is oppression at work”

hang on, let me check my phone

A hand holding an enamel pin; the pin is a smartphone, with different stamping depth making the screen look dimensional, and has a speech bubble on it reading “SEND FIC RECS!”

If you’ve been following me long enough, you might recognize this is a rework of an old design of mine (left image). I’ll have them at NYCC this year, along with another new pin I’ll show you soon 👀🤭

an enamel pin on a corkboard that reads “send fic recs”. The design is rudimentary, and follows a strict outline/fill process

The updated pin! It reads the same, but uses varying stamp depth, translucent enamel, and multiple screen printed colors to create the illusion of a touchscreen smartphone
