Does anybody find it slightly suspicious that Arena and the Secret Lair site are down tomorrow for an extended period of time?

I agree that LGS should be reimbursed for the extra pack that they have to give out to replace god packs. But……if you’re an LGS, you should be able to market this. Have a “God packs opened here!” Poster and social media with pictures and video. It’s free content that will draw in more folks.

Are the god packs you open in a play booster the same god pack you’d open in a collector booster? Or does the collector booster guarantee more chase artwork or at least have a higher chance for that?

Reyaadawnmtg - Catfight Creator @reyaadawnmtg.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Currently a play booster is about 1/6 the price of a collector. If god packs are high value, it would mathematically make sense to open more play boosters if that’s your only goal. This is concerning because this would drive up the price of those to get closer to 1/4 the cost of a collector pack

If they wanted to “improve player experience” the god packs would have IRL wildcards you could redeem for real cards directly from WotC.

With the price of gas, no wonder the best deck in the format is solar powered.

I actually like that we’re not getting foil commons and uncommons anymore. The foil on those look like garbage and it makes the art dark and the card curl. Good riddance.

Do we have any idea when we’re going to get the enemy versions of this cycle? It’s been such a longtime that it feels like it should have already happened.

I’ve been playing a Death and Taxes variant of Winota in Historic and it’s been doing phenomenally. Best card in the deck is this. More like Syr GotDam.

I think everyone forgot that this prepares EACH turn. This is a commander card. You should start attacking and blocking in commander, WotC really wants you to.

I got into a little bit of a tussle with folks because I told them “I’ve played the game for 30 years and never sleeved an Opt” However, I’ve sleeved AD many times. And I stand that it is a better card. 1 mana instant tutor, not draw. Knowing exactly what you’re getting is better than random draw

Are we getting a Commander rules update and B&R soon? Is something scheduled?

Why is one of these banned in Modern but not Historic, and the other is banned in Historic and not Modern. I don’t play blue cantrips. Someone explain this to me. Bonus points: which is more “fun” to play?

We had a Catfight tournament last night 14 players (lots of new faces) Top 8 was all different decks. Rakdos Burn v Monoblack Tempo in the finals. Rakdos Burn got there, winning a box of Secrets of Stroxhaven. It was a blast! @catfightmtg.bsky.social

Not sure what the rest of the deck is, but I’m definitely building this in Historic.

I’ll say it. This card is a good thing for cEDH. Slop is officially banned. Games need to end No more 18 hour games. This is a good thing.

Not in the commander deck…. Is this just going to be the very last rare revealed?

Reyaadawnmtg - Catfight Creator @reyaadawnmtg.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

I understand they’re all supposed to be Polymorph targets, but why does EVERY new creature in the commander deck costs 6+? This is 2026 and you’re not in green. You’re going to see a lot of hands holding 3 uncastable creatures and then get blown out when you do nothing for 5 turns and play Jace….

When and where is the commander deck reveal?

110

Reyaadawnmtg - Catfight Creator @reyaadawnmtg.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

I saw one of those “before I did MTG I (blank)” and it was from a big ime creator And the end slide was “and now I get to talk about Mtg” …I don’t want to TALK about Mtg. I want to PLAY MtG. Talking is fun, but PLAYING is the goal. Is this not everyone’s goal?

I’m still confused how they didn’t do “Oathbreaker Precons” for this set…that seemed like a slam dunk and a way to get folks into the format and sell a ton of product. It could be in addition to the commander decks.

120

Reyaadawnmtg - Catfight Creator @reyaadawnmtg.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Oathbreaker players are rejoicing with this set.

Some poor fellow thinks that Narset Wheel is still a viable Oathbreaker deck and gets mobbed down on T4….

I am once again wishing there was more of a community of competitive Oathbreaker players to discuss strategy because I have some serious thoughts on these cards, especially the Lion.

I’m certain this is a deck and I’ve been trying to crack it in Historic for months. It’s so close to being there, just needs some fine tuning and maybe the right alchemy card as well. Vampiric tutor unban would be amazing…
