the heat hawk axe weapon is painted as if its glowing, with the ambient light affecting nearby areas

the miniature is mounted on a scratch built plinth made of polystyrene, and wood base was placed on top, made from assembled beachwood

the composition was made to accentuate the action pose of the zaku, giving it a dynamic feel

This week is PEOW PRESENTATION MINI (2026) It's like a Nintendo Direct but not really. We will be sharing 5 new books that we have coming out this fall, plus 2 or 3 license announcements for spring 2027, and a few other special things I don't think anybody is expecting. Check out peow.studio

At Iron Thistle I encountered Maschinen Kreiger kits in the flesh. I’ve been Ma.K. curious for the longest time, but without actually getting to look at the kits in person I wasn’t sure. K Scale Models were very kind in letting me have a good look at em. Shown here with Sci-fi Cityscapes backdrops.

went to a small toy fair/comic convention and picked up some interesting things. This Frame Arms model is designed by Kunio Okawara, and I've been meaning to look into Battletech for a long time now.

Box for Frame Arms Shingen. Its a mecha design that looks like a Samurai

Battletech Beginner Box, includes two models, a paper battle mat, cut out figures, and other fun stuff

there was this huge RC tank, smoke was coming out of it and it had motor sounds, really cool. How much would something like that even cost I wonder

Its time once again, Gunpla Ball Drop 2026: BALL VS GUNTANK! Please read the following slides if you'd like to participate, and if you have any questions, please let me know!

key art promotional poster for Gunpla Ball Drop 2026
an angry looking Ball and Guntank from the Gundam series face off against each other

about

As we enter the final stretch of 2026, it is time once again for the Gunpla Ball Drop! Now in its 5th year, the Gunpla Ball Drop is the year-end community group build where model making enthusiasts create unique Ball or Ball-like creations, and post them on New Years Eve... A Ball Drop if you will! This is a casual event to cap off a year in the hobby with your fellow builders.

Every year there's also an extra theme, more on that in the next slide.

This Year's theme is Ball vs Guntank

Gundam fans in Japan have a New Years tradition of posting Guntanks, they call it "Guntank Day" because "gantan" (New Years Day) sounds close to Guntank. So in the spirit of international exchange and jolly cooperation, we're pitting balls and tanks against each other!

Pick a side and create a ball or a guntank (or anything thematically close to a ball or guntank) and fight for New Years Supremacy! The side with the most entries gets bragging rights for an entire year.

Thank you all Ball Droppers Past and Present that have made this such a positive and fun event.
