National parks should remain untouched by any and all extractive industries, and should be managed sustainably. Note that mining and drilling are never sustainable. Tree cutting should only be done sparingly, and in a manner that preserves wooded areas' role as natural habitat for wildlife.

No "far left" or "leftist" movement in the U.S.

America does not have a far left movement.

Our far-right are fascists.
Our center-right are extremist nationalists.
Our center-left are classical conservatives.
Our far-left are moral centrist moderates.

Any objective political compass would place politicians like Sanders or Warren barely left of center.

A real far-leftist movement would be advocating for forced property seizure by the working-class.

Instead our far-left is like "don't let people die in medical poverty, please"

Texan here. It's more accurate to say that Texans, like all Americans, need major cajoling to even show up to the polls. A very large turnout will be required to overcome the voter suppression and gerrymandering the Texas GOP have been imposing on the state for decades.

It's Dire Straits, so of course it's an excellent album. My two favorite tracks on it happen to also be anti-war songs, Ride Across The River and Brothers In Arms. Those two sound the most like older Dire Straits songs. Why's it their best seller? MTV & Sting probably had a lot to do with it.

Judges, incl. SCOTUS justices, know there's usually leeway in issuing findings. "The letter of the law" is rarely completely rigid, nor should it be. To claim they're "just interpreting the law" is disingenuous, dangerous, and lacks much needed social responsibility. Axiom: help people.
