Hear me out. European Super League. No rules. Players can juice themselves up as much as they like. Get bionic limbs. Actual robot Haaland. Players who can run 45mph. Man City, PSG, Chinese AI, Boston Dynamics. Get Craig Charles on commentary. Then the rest of us can focus on the real football.

Sometimes an assist is just a generic pass and the finisher has done all the work. Not this time… That pass from Wirtz, combined with Barcola’s excellent first touch, takes 4 defenders out the game in half a second. Incredible.
Wirtz shapes to pass, with 6 defenders behind the ballBarcola receives through on goal, one on one with the goalkeeper

I get the closing of ranks, but the lionisation of people like Khaldoon Al-Mubarak is really odious given who he works for and what his job entails. These are very bad, very dangerous people and they work for a state that is responsible for death and destruction of a scale that's hard to fathom.

Man City fan on The Anfield Wrap: “I’m all for spending limits, but the premier league should implement that through rules and regulations rather than punishments.” What do you think FFP is?! We have rules and regulations and your club deliberately broke them and then repeatedly lied about it!

Swedish top division game today. 0-0 at half time. 5-6 at full time. From 5-1 down to getting the equalizer in the 97th. Still lost it in the 99th. Oh and it was a derby.

He charmed and he encouraged and he inspired, collating an incredible database of volunteers in his local community. Through a shared sense of purposeness they have restored something physical, tangible, offline, important, magnetic. A place to connect once more. Their town’s pier.

Before sycophantic AI bots and relentless advertisers… there was a moment when Facebook could play a genuine role in connecting communities. My grandad, as a retired computer engineer, was not afraid to use technology. He could see it for what it was. And he used it for good.

This was the video clip. My grandad presented Alfy - a young boy from Ramsey - with a key. And with that, the opportunity to unlock the pier, that had been derelict for 30 years. It was a perfect moment. Two very different generations momentarily aligned. That’s what this film is about.

And he almost got the £900m figure spot on…
the net losses of the previous five seasons totaled £491.3 million - £121.3 million in 2009/10, £197.5 million in 2010/11, £97.9
million in 2011/12, £51.6 million in 2012/13, £23 million in 2013/14. When you throw in the cost of buying the club, estimated at £210 million, the losses from the 2008/2009 season, which the club do not appear to have published, and the £161 million net spend on players since it signed off its latest accounts, the net loss is probably close to £850 million. If the idea is to generate alternative revenue streams for the post-oil economy, they're not doing a very good job of it.

By taking this long to determine wrongdoing, is this not the Prmeier League declaring themselves unfit stewards for the sport? Yes they’ve shown courage now, but it also shows their systems and procedures are incapable of implementing fairness — on a relevant or useful timeline.

City don't have fit and proper owners. How can they continue running a club? How can "sponsorship deals" be taken seriously? Why should they be allowed to skew another competition? They've made City a laughing stock and, far from "washing" their reputation, they've made it worse. They need to go.

The PL had one job. Run the competition fairly. They failed as much as Man City cheated.

They should have people inside each and every club auditing the financials every season. Every ownership group should have to requalify for the ‘fit and proper’ owners test every season.

The Premier League don’t deserve any credit at this point. Yes they have showed courage, but it’s all far too late. We all knew the numbers didn’t stack up at the time. It was clear as day. There’s no point in having annual Financial Fair Play rules if it takes 10 years to come to a conclusion.

It's very important to make the argument City shouldn't be relegated but should be expelled. The EFL should get to choose whether it takes them and at what tier. The bad faith dealings have impacted many sides that are currently EFL teams.

Saw Philippe Auclair post this. That suggests we should know within 4.5 months what the punishment is.
According to the Premier League rulebook, the appeal process has a stricter time frame, whereby any party who wishes to appeal a decision by a judicial panel must do so by email within 14 days of a decision being announced. Under rule W.86 any hearing should conclude no longer than 12 weeks after the first appeal is submitted. Any decision by the appeal board must also be published, alongside full written reasons, within 30 days of the conclusion of the hearing.

The arrogance of Man City fans saying “we been down in the second division in the 90s, we’ll do it again.” … who’s saying the EFL will accept your cheating club!!? They should be sent straight down to non-league. Keep going down until you find a league that will accept them.

From the highlights it looked like Brighton could’ve beaten Arsenal 6-0! Absolutely wild tha Shearer says it’s not a red card when Rice aggressively kicks his opponent when the ball is 25 yards away. Cashed in on his England international status big time there! 🤯 #MOTD
