Shovel Knight was handled with way more attention to detail in its authenticity to the style it was referencing. the team actually limited themselves when it came to the sprite work and music, and it came out really well

theres another one that resembles Frisk's. i've seen a theory before that stated the Vessel head pieces are representing the eight fallen humans in UT

RetroLeaves @retroleaves.bsky.social · 17/12/2024

also bro if they dont want continuations of the mod owned by a pedo then its really as simple as respecting their wishes and not making this shit anymore. whatever the community does after that is entirely on them at that point

RetroLeaves @retroleaves.bsky.social · 16/12/2024

the level goes on way too long imo and it introduces a lot of gimmicks that are just a bit annoying. im dreading playing it for Combo Chain

What a nice moon. Sure would be a shame if someone pissed on it.

RetroLeaves @retroleaves.bsky.social · 15/12/2024

If they dropped the "attacks are items" gimmick from Sticker Star this battle system would be pretty damn perfect. It'd make a nice loop of defeating enemies giving you more paint, then that paint making your attacks more powerful.

RetroLeaves @retroleaves.bsky.social · 15/12/2024

The environments and artstyle is AMAZING so far, and the writing is pretty funny for what it's worth. The music really sells the visuals, too. Enemies dropping items that go towards upgrading your paint gauge (basically your power that goes towards attacks in battle.) is an okay substitute for EXP.

I'm playing through Paper Mario: Color Splash currently, and I get the feeling that if the developers had the freedom to use an original villian instead of Bowser again, and figured out the battle system more, it would've gone down as an underrated gem.

Here she is! The third in my Paper Mario OC collection, Kuribonette⚔️✨ She was the first Goomba to ever face against Mario, and after years of training with her own private militia, disconnected from Bowser's Army, she's ready for a rematch, one last final battle to the death!
