iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Bomb that bounces around wherever the hell it wants, rats that force people to decide between taking damage over time or using their dashes, armor with a chance to reflect, a team support banner with both a charge AND aggravating music I'm not good at clicking heads but I AM good at tilting people

Oh no, Rat King Deadlock is the kind of annoying little bastard character that I enjoy playing

Stuff from today's stream, which also makes a nice lineup of my process of initial sketch, refinement, and finished piece #Art #DigitalArt #RetroHeartArt

A rough sketch of a demon woman making a peace sign on the left, a half-orc woman in the center with a torn-up t-shirt looking over her shoulder, and a full color complete illustration of Bun-E03 striking a scout salute on the right.

Shaking off yesterday's gloom and doing some sketchin' until it gets too hot out again Starting soon: live.retroheart.net

Closeup sketch of Bun-E03 giving a scout salute to the viewer while a time paradox Bun-E03 dressed as a Witch, The Monitor, and Dusty sit in the corner.

I know people pull out the "wow, two cakes" thing when it comes to art, but sometimes you know you made a cake that you don't like and you just gotta bake another one

Retro Heart @retroheart.net · 02/10/2026

I was deeply unhappy with the results of the art I did on stream this morning, and I've spent a chunk of today resketching essentially the same thing, then refining that sketch into something I like. I feel like there should be some clever "never give up" cap on this post, but nah

Deadlock updates give the city an absurd amount of character in its environments. If one of the upcoming characters is a Junkrat-like it'll be the perfect game

Retro Heart @retroheart.net · 28/09/2026

Today's stream progress, hand hurting so I needed to cut early. It's been forever since I've done a character collage like this so it's been slow going but very rewarding #Art #DigitalArt #WIP

A collage of characters striking different poses including Nova front and center in a cropped shirt and cutoff shorts, two different versions of Millenia to either side of her in school uniforms, Amanda in the upper right in a sailor-style uniform, Wren in her waitress gear to Nova's upper left, and Robin in a sweater and jeans to the lower left of Wren. Also an upside-down Hero is there in the lower left corner.

I'm not convinced I actually fell asleep at any point last night, and I have no idea what I'm going to draw this morning, but I've got a schedule to keep Art stream starting shortly: live.retroheart.net

SYS-A is both the Company Computer Gal at Superfuture Technolabs, and also the mainframe computer. It's complicated. Pros: She knows exactly how to fix it. Cons: She knows exactly how you broke it. #Art #DigitalArt #RetroHeartArt

Digital art of SYS-A, an android woman with vibrant magenta and yellow hair, violet and blue eyes, and a layered outfit made out of a brown cropped jacket with angled shoulder pads, a black dress shirt with a translucent cyan tie, and a tall t-shirt in addition to white and black stockings with black heels. A pair of ribbons around her temples and the bottom of her tied hair give her a vaguely mouse-like look.

Finally digging in and rebuilding the Sound Test in Godot. When all's said and done it'll include a dynamic Twitch poll

A work in progress overlay featuring a list of four game titles with console icons behind them. Chibi Bun-E03 features in the corner.

A different list of games, all for the Mega Drive / Genesis. A fifth option is at the bottom that says "It's on the Genesis".

Verse is fashionably late to summer (because I kept forgetting to post this for 2 weeks) #Art #DigitalArt #RetroHeartArt

Digital art with halftone of Verse, a succubus, in a black bikini and a t-shirt cropped above her chest with "THIS SIDE UP" written on it. She's laying on her side while turned towards the viewer with a smile, her wings stretched out and her tail making a heart shape. A simple beach background is framed behind her.

Funny thing, I forgot to set up chat to display messages from anyone BUT the accounts I had been testing it with, and this worked out well because the planets aligned for the semi-annual buttmunch to show up in chat Gonna fast-track message removal based on Twitch EventSub next

Good progress from today's stream. Definitely running low on energy and my brain shut off trying to get her boots looking right, so I'll fix those and her tail another time (I don't think her boots or end of her tail will show up as part of the stream overlay anyways)

NEK-01, a cat themed android, laying on her side asleep with a bunny-shaped pillow under her head.

It's Casual Friday, the new chat display is in place, and I stayed up late optimizing things. Let's get some art done. Starting soon: live.retroheart.net

Terse, aloof, and rarely willing to come out of her shell, NEK-01 can be friendly when she wants to. The problem is "when she wants to" is basically never. #Art #DigitalArt #RetroHeartArt

A cat-themed android with orange-red hair, green eyes, and a form-fitting suit made up of various panels in shades of red, yellow, and white. She has one hand held backwards just above shoulder height and the other on her hip, looking off to the side with disinterest. The over-knee boot parts of her outfit have cat features that seem independent of her own expression.

Realized I can remake the SFTL Theater overlay that I originally made in [that which will not be named] in Godot now I've got some ideas for how to improve on the original One of those ideas may be actually using it because the old one was a nightmare to get running properly

I had that thought too, but I thought those were already included site-wide with a channel sub. Feels like poor communication but that's not exactly new when it comes to Twitch.

... was there a point where they couldn't? Isn't that the whole point of emotes? This is so ominous

Last bump for this one, I do wish I hadn't called it a sketch in retrospect since it's very much not and somehow edit buttons on massive platforms haven't been invented in 2026, though I do like this more relaxed style a lot and want to use it more in the future

At some point I gotta figure out how to package up the underlying stuff that makes it work but a lot of it requires outside knowledge of making API calls and getting authorization codes and trying to write it all down feels like writing a technical manual based on hearing one side of a phone convo

Finished integrating chat boxes into the stream Godotverlay. While there's still nice to haves for chat and the bigger picture will never truly be DONE done, it's another big chunk knocked out and makes it feel like an actual finished project

I couldn't remember how her skirt worked other than "it's at an angle I think" so I just rolled with it This also feels oddly nostalgic, the face is a little different from how I normally draw them but it reminded me of character portraits I did uhhhh about two decades ago
