I'm not sure how much of this result is from my upbringing, and how much is from me trying to "correct" my dialect, but I did try to only answer based on how I would've answered as a kid. mydialect.us

A dialect heatmap of the US, with slightly reddish regions around Michigan and the entire West Coast, and slightly bluish regions near the Dakotas and the Deep South. Alaska actually looks the reddest to me, with the far reaches of New England the bluest. Hawaii's pretty blue as well.

I needed to make this to get it out of my head, and I'm not sorry. #auguste #marvelous #octopathtraveler0 #octopathtravelercotc

A partial screenshot from a DDR game in which the player has hit a note perfectly, triggering the "Marvelous!!" text. Next to this is a blown-up sprite of Auguste from the Octopath Traveler series, for obvious reasons if you're familiar with him at all.

Titania is a delicious hamburger. Retrieve Slippy before he eats the whole thing. 😋

The stage intro for Titania in Star Fox (2026). The description reads "Titania is a treacherous wasteland. Retrieve Slippy before the planet claims its next victim."

But the planet kind of looks like a hamburger.

I won't say it was the highlight of the trip, but I do love topping off my MAX Coffee supply (I also brought home six of the 500ml bottles). 😋 #MAXCoffee

They don't usually show Tokyo Station from behind, and now I see why 😅

A fancy brick building (Tokyo Station) with a network of stone and metal platforms and other infrastructure mostly blocking the view.

Sure, why not? A flying squirrel suit keeps me from freezing to death and allows me to basically fly.

It's still far from finished, but my NES collection is on display! I've misplaced my Street Fighter 2010 and the Stadium Events cart is a repro I made for this display, but the rest of the licensed US carts are there!

A large white shelving combo made from two wide IKEA BILLY units with a narrow unit between them. Each wide unit has a whopping TWELVE shelves, and the top 8 shelves are crammed full of NES cartridges, 45 to a shelf.

The left unit, containing 0-M, with a full set of Tengen and Camerica carts on the shelf below, followed by empty shells I'd been using for filler.

The right unit, containing M-Z, followed by most of the PAL-exclusive games. The shelf below contains a mostly-complete set of Color Dreams and Wisdom Tree games, and the one below that has a full set of AVE and AGCI games, two of the Panesia games, two Game Genies, two Action 52 carts, Cheetahmen II, and the Caltron and Myriad 6-in-1 carts.

You will be visited by three spirits.

The princes of Midenhall and Cannock, and the princess of Moonbrooke, from Dragon Quest II. Malroth is visible in the background, but he doesn't count.

Sometimes, the first step is the hardest 😩

A pair of white faux wood sidelight blinds, held up entirely by the power of magnets; coming up with a way to get them to hold took much longer than I expected.

Gotta love a good fake Ghibli movie billboard 😍 #Yakuza5

A fake billboard spotted in Yakuza 5 advertising a non-existent movie called 疾風鷲伝說 (Shippuu Washi Densetsu). It features a serious-looking young woman in a red outfit with a bag slung over her shoulder, and an eagle is loosely perched on that same shoulder. The art style is VERY strongly reminiscent of Studio Ghibli / Hayao Miyazaki.

Costco, how did you know? 😍😍😍

Two big bags of Black Thunder, a Japanese candy bar that's like a cross between a Crunch bar and Oreos; it also contains just enough sorbitol to keep me from eating a whole bag in one sitting.

I don't know what I enjoy more about this: the impracticality of it, or how weak it is 😅

A weapon menu screenshot from Tears of the Kingdom showing Link with his favorite Mine-Cart Hammer, a stick with an entire minecart fused to the tip. The minecart is as large as Link himself, and adds a single point of strength to the stick as a weapon.

Incremental progress! Yeeeeaaaaahhhh!

The CHUNITHM Paradise title screen with the card reader mounted above it on the same pole, a small rounded square with a tiny, off-center point of amber light that I didn't think to cover with electrical tape before I assembled the thing.

A closer view of the card reader mounted to the pole, seemingly floating in the darkness above the monitor and illuminated in magenta by the controller's keys below.

A side view of the card reader, showing the 3D printed harness with two velcro cable ties through it, wrapped around the mounting pole and securing other cables. Multipurpose!

Every year for NYE, my dad would get the cheapest, trashiest kielbasa and cheese tray from the grocery store, and we'd eat it with yellow mustard. I'm proud to keep the tradition alive. ❤

The mounting hardware wasn't quite the right size, so I designed and printed an adapter 😤

The rear of the marquee; it uses a VESA pole mount with adapter bars due to the marquee having no proper mounting holes. The inner ring of the mount is 3D printed in white PLA and fits beautifully.
