and I was studying strong expressions and male characters intensively. When I draw too many older men, I start to struggle with drawing young women, and sometimes the opposite happens. Drawing is really difficult haha

The lower half of the floating character in the background was later drawn digitally in Photoshop, along with some smoke effects around the two characters, but unfortunately the completed file no longer exists anywhere 😭 ahh...

Nowadays I create everything digitally from sketch to final, so looking back, I’m honestly impressed I used to make works like this traditionally 😅 This was a commissioned illustration created before 2010, and it was made with roughly 80% traditional work and 20% digital additions.

Thank you for your questions! As I remember it, the two characters were twin-like beings who judged whether a person's life would continue or come to an end. The eyes depicted on their hats were meant to be kind of like visual symbols of life and death.

I think I got it in a half-finished state when I visited a friend’s place, with the dragon and two male characters already sketched out, and I ended up finishing the line art as a practice piece🤔 Also, my friend is a firefighter🚒 and isn't active on social media as an artist

This is a rather unusual piece. Right side of the illustration: I designed the female character. Left side: a friend designed the dragon and the two male characters. The final line art of the entire piece, including the background and overall detailing, was done by me.

The “Welcome” text in the illustration was included for visitors to the shop :) I used Copic markers and acrylic paint for this piece. Since I was more familiar with Copics, I remember struggling quite a bit with how to handle acrylics.

Starting today, I'll also be sharing some of my other older artwork. This is a rare piece I drew at A3 size (297 × 420 mm). A long time ago, I had it framed and displayed at the shop inside a local hospital that took care of me, where I was given the opportunity to exhibit my work.

This artwork was originally expected to be cropped around the calves when it was delivered on April 22, but later I completed the areas below the ankles, extended the background, and made some final adjustments to turn it into a full-body illustration.
