I've been avoiding this purchase in an effort to keep my kitchen appliances minimal and dual use, but I've come to realize there's just no good substitute for a simple bread toaster. So I finally broke down and bought one. Six bucks from the habitat store.

Oh, and while I'm here, check this bullshit out. I bought the "No Sugar Added" version of skippy thinking I was being a good diabetic boy. Turns out the no sugar added stuff has !more calories per serving than the regular stuff with added sugar!

Last week the new regime managing my apartment ripped out the last of the foliage in the inner breezeway. It still makes me sad and angry, but they did at least put some effort into making it presentable instead of just covering it with gravel.

A courtyard with benches surrounded by sand, large red rocks, and different colored zones of river rocks making an artistic, but plant-free zone.

This is an odd email I got from TreasuryDirect. Odd because I don't recall receiving anything but confirmations from them before. I'm well aware C of I is non-interest bearing and so would anyone else using the service. It's just a place to queue funds between transactions.

With spring arriving, it was time to do some serious jade pruning. Especially the Elder Jade and the Dwarf Jade, the latter of which had gotten so top heavy I had to brace it up.
