If I'm inviting people out for a $60 a person meal for my birthday, I'm making sure they're paid for. Most of the time, I'd rather just have a small get together at home and my partner loves to cook so he'll make something yummy for it. I don't understand the entitlement of others resources tbh

I'm not against disability or medical use cases, but blanketing we all should be use it because LLMs can do those positive things appears like justification for art theft, environmental damage, and worker's rights violations.

To me, these use cases are different from using an llm to mass steal and reconfigure other artist's art into "your prompt" At this moment, there is no way to create truly original art, writing, or music with "AI".

I understand. I had someone at a house warming party yesterday tell me they are going to buy an "AI" generated game and stream it because it looked hilarious. I said "if you want to ruin your reputation..." Only response was "but it would be funny though" Immediate nope to any friendship with them.

If you post anything that has "ai" generated images or text, I'm not engaging with your content ever again. I don't care about ifs, ands, or buts at this point. Llms are being used to create mass propaganda, steal art from artists, and create fake "emotional" entertainment.

I have seen artist paint using paint brushes in their mouths if they can't use their hands. I've seen deaf people create music, and blind people create art and literature. Humans find a way. And the struggle of creating art, even when its hard, is a part of why its beautiful. Generated art is not.

Reminds me of the game Transistor, where the main characters voice is purposely stolen and then used by agents trying to mold the digital world in their image. Came out years before LLMs but speaks well on this issue

It's interesting to be able to lay it all out (written) and see what someone really did in a day, because it's a lot more than what they might think they can achieve. And even actions like eating breakfast or coordinating with carers are a positive achievement.

I started counting the things I did do instead of focusing on what I didn't. Oh, I got up out of bed? Thats a win. Read a book? Big win. Took a shower? Absolute win. When mental health is low, lowering productivity standards and embracing what can be achieved is crucial to building stability

I took a test more recently to see if I could detect AI, and I did worse than I thought 😭 You think ppl who can make art would be able to tell, but apparently not. I rely on looking at the comments now bc apparently I can't trust my own judgement on it

This is why I've started to get into the habit of patiently explaining things to people if I encounter misinformation. Likely thing is, they *can* look it up, but won't get the right info (Google ai response, boosted inaccurate articles, etc) You need discernment on the internet, and people lack it.

I was surprised 6/10 first round, 7/10 second round Second round I missed 1 detection, and wrongfully accused 2 Consistently got fooled by Gemini. In fact, all of my missed detection were Gemini images (which increases my distain for it tenfold) I do think the education mid test helped.
