No surprise. UK-based EV dealer Richard Symons finds a strong correlation between crude oil price and demand in the Used EV market over 2026. Here's the full commentary: youtu.be/EfvJh-vl36c #EVs #ElectricVehicles #UsedEVs #UK #CrudeOilPrice #UsedCarMarket #OilDependency
Chart highlighting the market price for Brent Cruide Oil over 2026 overlaid against an Autotrader market index measuring the demand for used EVs in the UK. The chart shows a strong correlation; as the price of oil increases demand shows a similar pattern.

The NEM wholesale energy market does slip into the negative, but it's rarely sustained & less frequent in 2026 with battery capacity now able to swallow up most of that excess capacity (and get paid to take it). The suppliers most disadvantaged are the coal-fired plants unable to quickly switch off

This is a VERY revealing chart for several reasons. But most importantly; the reasoning behind the push for more expensive coal, gas & nuclear falls flat. #renewableenergy #homebatteries #solarpower #windpower #australia #renewables
A chart that highlights the duck curve of wholesale energy prices in Australia vs time of day. Relative plots have been drawn for 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. The average wholesale price for 2026 is much lower than the prior years - not exceeding $100 per MWh at any time of the day whilst 2023 peaked at almost $300 per MWh at aprx 18:00

One good "case in point" was this arson attack on a Tesla dealership earlier this year. Not one of the 3 EVs that were torched went into thermal runaway. In the ultimate irony, fossil fuels were required to light the fire/s.

Patients report sweating when filling petrol, nausea at the register and the sudden urge to buy a bicycle. Transmission occurs every time you drive past a price board. Masks don't help and neither does crying.

Some of the numbers that Aussies woke up to on #4July #MixedFeelings #ElectricVehicles #HomeBatteries #WorldCup
1. 23.4% - (pure) EV sales for the month of June 2026 as % of new vehicles sold. On track to reach 80% of the market by 2030.

2. 457,439 - the number of home batteries installed in the first 12 months of the Federal government's "Cheaper Home Batteries" program. That's well in excess of initial expectations and one of the most successful incentive programs run by an Aussie government ever.

3. 4-2 Australia's loss to Egypt overnight. That's sad. We're out.
