It is especially important for our medical service where tens of thousands of medical related flights take place each year. I was happy to join Sen. Nick Pisciottano in issuing a proclamation celebrating this historic landmark.

Unions have always historically been the backbone of Pennsylvania so this Labor Day, let’s be clear: we stand with unions, we stand with workers, and we will keep fighting for good union jobs across Pennsylvania.

That's why I'm proud that the 2026–27 Pennsylvania budget includes a $565 million increase in funding for public schools. Even better, nearly $9 million of that investment is coming directly to our Mon Valley schools, representing a 30.5% increase in funding across our five school districts.

Investing in the next generation means investing in their education. As legislators, one of our greatest responsibilities is ensuring Pennsylvania's students have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed because the future of our Commonwealth will one day be in their hands.

I was honored to be wearing Blanche Devereaux’s pin. The iconic and glamorous character brought to life by the late Rue McCalanahan. The Bill would prevent arbitrary restrictions on unrelated adults living together, except where legitimate health and safety standards apply.
