On Veterans Day, we not only honor those who served, but recommit ourselves to taking care of those who put on a uniform. I introduced a bill to help veterans gain easier access to Narcan. As veterans are particularly vulnerable to substance abuse, this will prevent overdose deaths and save lives.

I don’t know any doctors who would say taking away someone’s healthcare was a good idea. Yet Republican have proposed $880 billion in Medicaid cuts in order to fund tax breaks for the 1%. I stood alongside my fellow Democratic Doctors in Congress to protest these cuts and defend Medicaid.
