Congrats Jack!! 🦗🧬 So excited to see this one out—fantastic work! This work investigates how cricket populations have adapted at the genomic level following the introduction of the parasitoid fly and show how this novel selective pressure has shaped both population structure and genetic variation.

Leaf-mimicking katydids don’t just use their funky camouflage to survive, they’re using it to find love too! 🥰🍃💘 New paper out now in #ProcB @royalsocietypublishing.org (Photo cred: Christian Ziegler): doi.org/10.1098/rspb... 1/n

Genomic signatures of local adaptation across parasitised cricket populations
Host-parasite interactions are predicted to exhibit geographic heterogeneity, creating the opportunity for local adaptation. This is difficult to detect because it requires knowledge of selection pres...

Very happy to see our opinion article out in @cp-trendsecolevo.bsky.social today. 🥳 We ask whether sexual signals can influence the evolutionary trajectory of naturally selected adaptations, such as protective colouration, for better or for worse 🧐 1/n doi.org/10.1016/j.tr...

Divergent alternative mating tactics in convergent male reproductive morphs
Alternative reproductive phenotypes involve polymorphic behaviors and forms within sexes. Testing whether behavioral variants such as alternative tactics (eg sneaking or satellite behavior) are initially co-expressed or decoupled from morphological polymorphisms (eg weapon size or color pattern) can provide insight into the origins of reproductive diversity. In Hawaiian field crickets (Teleogryllus oceanicus), an eavesdropping parasitoid fly selected for rapid, parallel evolution of male wing...
