I would agree. I think if we want to rejoin we have to do it in a way that says we no longer want to have our cake. I would presume the UK joining the euro would strengthen the currency, which is already almost on parity with the pound these days.

They don't generate direct wealth so their role has always been downplayed. Just another overhead to be squeezed. But they do provide a great service for the country that does provide economic benefits. I salute anyone who does this as a job, they've never had more than a platitude until now

Its going to be a fine balance to suitably punish the club without totally destroying it. I've seen theories that it could cause the club to fold (which sounds far fetched), but that's something that cannot be allowed to happen due the action of the latest owners.

As someone filled with bregret, rejoining is the only sensible option.

This may not be the point, city deserve a big punishment they've clearly cheated. I do however have sympathy for the fans, this is just another case of the rich doing whatever the hell they like and now the fans will suffer. City's owners might sell and wash their hands, but the fans are stuck.

For me if you can't enjoy a game of football without needing to be half cut then maybe you don't really enjoy it enough. That being said some of the football served up i can see why people might need a few beers to get through it.
